I went through the back-and-forth with the 6. I switched between the 2 3 times probably. I went right for the Plus this time and I'm looking at it differently. I've basically removed 1 hand operation from the equation outside of scrolling through articles, and i've embraced that it's basically a small tablet. With this mindset I'm absolutely loving the device. I can't put it down :p

This is really solid advice. You just have to know it is more of a small tablet than a typical size phone. If you are fixated on 1 hand operation, you will never like the plus.

Wouldn't say I'm fixated on one handed use, but definitely have got used to using one hand over the past 5 years. Maybe I should make the jump.

Love it! Love it! I had a 5 and this is a big jump and I could no be happier. You just have to know yourself and your habits. I never carry a phone in my pocket, I carry it my purse and I do not feel the need to have it in front of me all the time. I love that big screen. I can actually see details in my instagram feed, read books & magazines in my kindle library and play a game or two without getting a headache.
I always typed with two thumbs and this makes it even easier. Maybe give it a try, I think you one handers might like it. ;)

I think it is perfect.... for me.

I am in the same boat as you with 1 hand use. It is a must for me on a phone and why I went with the 6s. I never realized how important it was until I tried phablets.

I'm fretting about losing my one-handed operation. I just received my 6S Plus, but am having commitment issues and am unable to open the box just yet, and am seriously thinking of downsizing to the 6S 4.7".

I hate Apple for making us choose between one-handed operation and camera OIS (and battery).

If Apple had stuck OIS in the 4.7", I would have grabbed that one in a heartbeat!

Man, if Apple could have made the 6S the same thickness as the 6S Plus to give it a slightly larger battery and OIS, it would be no contest.

Would never go back to a small screen anymore. I do remember is was a little shocking at first and would go back and forth between the 6 and 6+ until I decided the + was good for me. Have not looked back!

There is a definite trade off but the bigger screen, extended battery life, OIS and nicer loudspeaker are absolutely worth it. I sold by 6+ and used an old iPhone 4 for three days before my 6S+ came. I quickly got used to the smaller size and could have got the 6S with it feeling like a bigger phone...but I still got the Plus and love it. Funnily enough going from the iPhone 5 to the 6+ felt like a mistake but going from the 6+ to the iPhone 4 and then onto a 6S+ felt like coming home. No complaints about my choice.

Opposite for me.
I pick up my daughter's 5S and its like holding a toy.

Yes, and then once you get used to the 5S after a couple days, going back seems like you holding a massive tablet again. It works both ways. Its always a bit jarring at first when you change anything routine that you use so much on a daily basis. Your brain naturally does a double take. But the adjustment period is quite quick.

I've got to tell you, I am loving the Splus. I had a couple of days of "regular" usage out and about, and it doesn't even seem that big anymore.

Yeah, I think it's that relative size effect when you're coming from a smaller device, combined with "handheld scale" where a tiny difference is very noticeable, but those quickly wore off, and the usability/features/perks won out.

I am so happy you love your new iPhone. Good bye and good riddance to our possessed Pluses! (Though I still have mine. We need to make a trip out to return it to AT&T).

I went back and forth between 6+ and 6 last year, but now I'm happy with the 6S+. I have an apple watch, so during the day I don't need to look at the phone as much and the screen size just seems right.

As for one handed use, I live in NYC and definitely need to use it with one hand often. Right now I'm using a Bunker Ring to help. It's mostly great, but could be better. I started a thread in the iPhone accessories forum for the topic of one handed assistance accessories for the 6S+ (rings, grips, bands, etc.) , so if anyone has any experience with them, please post them :)

I do like my new phone, but would swap to a smaller device, with the same spec, straight away if offered.

The smaller screens are like kid phones when I use them now and that keyboard is unusable after coming from the Plus line. I also have big hands though and one handed operation is fine as I have become a master of reachability and know my limits on hand gymnastics.

I went from the 6 Plus to the 6s Plus. I was considering switching to a large Android device if Apple did not come out with a larger screen iPhone last year. I love the big screen, and I would choose the Plus even if it did not have OIS. I do not miss the one-handed use of the smaller phones, and I do run and exercise with the Plus. My wife took over my 5s, and her employer provided her with a 6, so I've had a lot of opportunity to handle and compare the smaller devices to my Plus models: I can't see myself ever choosing a smaller phone again.

Me too. A lot is made of OIS but I wonder how many actually need it.
