Still processing as well.. No pending charges on my cc, cancel button is still there.

Is the cancel button not going to be there 'till "preparing for dispatch" is reached? I'm in same position, 7-10 days (oct 7-10) UK. My order actually shows as 19th Sept.

Still at Processing items, they put a hold on my card for the cost of the Apple Care instead of doing it with the phone, just get to wait with the rest of you.

Apple authorised the full amount on my American Express as soon as I ordered, I'm from the UK.

In the UK thread, it seemed to vary depending on what type of card was used. In the UK thread we found it varied on the card network, some MasterCards had no authorisation at all, Visa generally had £1 authorisation and American Express cards had the full amount authorised.

Someone said earlier or in another thread that the button becomes unavailable a day or so before it prepares for shipment.

I can't vouch for the validity of this claim but I'm keeping an eye out anyway.

Interesting.. Might it also depend on the type of card (ie MasterCard Debit) or what ever they're actually called. I have a Visa Online card which is linked to my chequing account which would probably debit the full amount right away. I just figured for most credit cards it would do an authorization of $1 which would eventually not get posted.

For me on my Amex it was $1, which has since been taken off.

Curious if the full charge has actually been posted to your account at this point. I wouldn't think, but who knows.

sour grapes i get it :) good luck on your Oct delivery date

You go on and enjoy your new toy, we'll just stay here and pass our time with song and drinks...

On a more on topic note, still no movement in my order.. (UK store)
I have a reservation for the full amount on my mastercard and my delivery estimate is 08 Oct - 11 Oct..

Not a jot of activity on my card (visa debit).

It's very odd, that when the order email arrived initially it said

ships: 7-10 days
delivers: Oct 7th to 10th

But once I go on the actual apple.com site and check the order status it lists it at

ships: 7-10 days
delivers: oct 10th to 16th

Had I known I wouldn't of gotten up at 3am to order this thing but done it at a normal hour cause it doesnt seem like it made a difference. And btw this is a Canadian order for a 16gb space grey model.

Preparing for shipment! And my card is charged.

Edit to clarify: USA order, placed around 10AM eastern time on the day of release. It's a "no contract" unlocked GSM version ordered as T-Mobile (I am on AT&T). My confirmation email says "unlocked" so that doesn't concern me.

Is yours an Apple store order? If so which country?

EDIT: I see it is the US Applestore. Here's hoping the UK orders start to prepare soon! (I just predicted this would happen on Sunday on the UK thread!)

Called Apple and got my shipping method changed to 2-3 days. Went from expected delivery of October 9-15 to 8-11.

CA, 3:00 AM ET confirmation.
