That's what I'm wondering as well because my local Apple store (Pasadena, CA) ran out of TMobile phones very quickly on launch day. But like you said, they are the same exact phone as the AT&T model, so there shouldn't be any problems with making them. I'm just waiting anxiously and checking its status every now and then. I was really hoping I would be one of the lucky ones to have theirs shipped by today but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

My T-Mobile Unlocked is on the way. I don't think they are pulling any fast ones with holding back stock on the T-Mobile phones, it just seems where you are on the shipping list for each color/capacity. Good luck and keep checking.
My phone was in the 1-3 days shipping group and it changed to preparing for shipment last Saturday evening. So keep checking!
I was in 1-3 days group and my status changed to Shipped on Sunday morning, so the status can change anytime through the weekend.
I have another phone in 7-10 days group - 32 GB Gold AT&T, confirmed at 3:07 AM EDT. Still in Processing.
The first wave changed to shipped early Sunday morning (around 12:00 AM) and were delivered on Tuesday for the most part (Some west coast locations took longer to get them).
Mine changed on early Monday morning, around 12:00 AM CDT and was delivered on Wednesday.
There was a third wave that changed early Tuesday and was delivered Thursday, and a fourth that changed early Wednesday and was delivered Friday.

Inless you live in California it won't matter. They automatically ship with the fastest available shipping speed. Even if you live in Cali i don't think it would matter. UPS can't break the laws of physics.

I set an alarm for 2:50a EST but slept through it and didn't order until around 5a, but mine says its preparing to ship. Its said that since around noon today. We'll see when I get it, but it may be after you for all I know.

Not really, I didn't order until 11:45 am on 9/20. So, it appears that anyone ordered after 3 am, that group hasn't even prepared to ship yet. I believe they are shipping based on date and time...

no one can predict the way appl people are shipping the iphone.. GOD knows
