Im sending Tim Cook an email bc this is just ridiculous. They're prioritizing all apple store orders that went in after carrier pre-order times? Wtf Apple?! I swear Im gonna go off on them.

You should know better to preorder through the apple site. They always prioritize those customers first. I haven't bought my phone directly from att since the iphone 3g. lol

Well yea... its a given that apple will have more of the "rarer color" in stock compared to carriers. Thats why every year I order from apple over ATT :p
I get that, however they are ignoring their customers all around. Why does someone who ordered directly from Apple get priority over someone who ordered BEFORE that person through their carrier directly? It's the same product and as far as I'm concerned money is money lol. What's the point of pre-ordering and staying up late when they're gonna prioritize someone who ordered later on? That's like standing in line at the Apple store and getting skipped by someone all the way at the back wtf? Lol

I'm a first time customer for Apple...always had androids and I've never had this problem until now. I don't see why it should make a difference lol...if they're going to work that way they should only have orders available through their website alone. Really bad experience off the bat for someone coming to iOS from androids.

Because that's just how it works. Lesson learned for next year.

Honestly, Apple hasn't done anything wrong here. There is no regulations that dictate which vendors they fulfill first unless it is in the vendor specific contract. It would be a burden for Apple to track who preordered when and at what vendor. They will give AT&T a certain amount of phones per their purchase order when there is availability and then AT&T is charged with fulfilling their orders. This is honestly why you just order through Apple as it gets rid of one of the middle men in the process.

To the people who are saying that their phones are stuck in China, I just called UPS because I need to change the delivery address of my phone (its going to my parents house in Baltimore, and I live in Philly), and she told me that everything was on schedule, it went through customs and should be delivered to the UPS store in Philly by 1pm tomorrow. However she advised that I still keep an eye on the tracking. Not sure why it still shows that my phone is still in China, maybe it just hasn't updated on our end yet?

I hope things start to move quickly for you, but I don't think you can count on carrier times to be correct. That may be the time it went in their system but had some delay getting to Apple. Best of Luck!

Yep I know now for next year.

The bigger issue is the fact that even if you ordered on the apple website, if you ordered the T-mobile version, you're getting screwed. To date, everyone with AT&T or Verizon has beaten the first day of their projected ship window. Mine is going to miss that window and I have yet to see a single Jet Black phone ship to a T-mobile customer. Ridiculous.

Oh gosh you're one of those. Well welcome to ios. It's really not that bad. You'll get your phone in due time. I've been stressing all weekend about this smh. What dates were you told?

If you think about it this would happen with any company. Of course their own store would get more shipments than carriers because most people order directly through them nowadays, but if you're new to this I completely understand. My friend work at the ATT store and they didn't get any blacks in stock on launch. Only one black for display purposes. She hasn't even seen a Jet Black in person yet lol.

I knew it was bad when I went to the apple store and they didn't even have a Jet Black plus on display at all. Only blacks so it's definitely a shipment constraint and they are focusing a lot on getting the Preorders from the apple store down.

You'll be happy when you get it though. This happens with the new colors released every year but it's even worse for this Jet Black Model.

But now you know for future reference. I told all my friends to order directly from apple and I use to work at att, but I knew obtaining a model is quicker from apple website unless you stand in line somewhere to get one.

Just know you and the dogs will be happy when it finally arrives. lol

Thanks for the info and reassurance. I've never experienced this much lag regarding the update scans. Yeah they may miss one or two here and there, but it usually updates whenever it hits a new country. Really interesting why their system is doing that now.

My phone still says its in China also. Im in Baltimore, but they just pushed my delivery day from Tuesday to Wednesday. So it was supposed to be delivered on the 20th, and now it says 21st.

My 7 Jet Black 256GB's just arrived!

Edit: Wife doesn't want our son's picture online.

Also everyone, I went to the apple store yesterday and played around with a Jet Black. Honestly both blacks look really nice.

The Jet Black has more of a grip than the other phones. Also, the phone will not scratch just from holding it. It really does feel nice, but I will strongly advise everyone to get a case. The demo unit had a few scratches on it. It wasn't super noticeable but they were there, Please put it in a case and don't slide it on any table or throw it in a purse without a case. Just trying to help the community out. :)

I am right there with you, please do. Because this is totally ridiculous and wrong. I tried talking with someone at apple, and they just gave me the run around. "It's still in process, bla bla" couldn't give me a straight answer as to why my order is still sitting here, while others who purchased after me, are getting there's, expedited even. So unfair.
