Honestly I went with a 6 pack off amazon for like $10. You'd be surprised how easy the screen protector gets dirty or the corners start coming up. I went through almost all 6 in about 1.5 years.. not too bad. Just saying this for anyone who is about to spend a lot on a known brand protector.. i can post pictures of the pack i bought and how it looks on my s3 since release day.. i put it on same day i opened it.

Please share pics... not sure if what you are talking about is some kind of film but I'm guessing yes because of corners coming up?

This one I'm talking about is glass... and is formed to fit over not only the watch face but the rounded edges as well. I only caught a quick glimpse of it when they were doing my iPad and iPhone a couple weeks ago, but if the AW version is as good as those I'll be happy. I can't tell they are on the devices at all save for right around the home button.

I'll post pics later.

I'm in the camp of this is why I have had the SS models. I wore my S0 SS for 17 months, my S2 SS for 11 months and I now have the S3 SS. Never got any sort of scratches on the sapphire screen. Now, the SS body gets scratches, but that is to be expected and I've never tried polishing or buffing them out, but have seen many videos online on how to do it. As this does not affect functionality of the watch, it doesn't bother me. My SS Tissot T-Touch watch also got the same types of scratches.

As a frame of reference, I workout regularly with my watch either swimming, biking, running, or at my CrossFit gym.

I’d like to see pictures. I put film on mine and it covered the scratch and now you cant tell it’s there but it just doesnt feel the same when you touch the screen, as expected.

These are glass and on the iPad and iPhone feel just like the normal screen does are are invisible. I'm expecting the same from the watch protector. I'll be going there this evening after work and will post an update with before/after pics.

That's the thing I don't like about screen protectors, Is the tactile feedback when you touch it, it has a different feeling. Some say that having a screen protector also makes the display less reactive to touching it. But I guess the trade-off is if you're comfortable hiding the scratch with the screen protector and preventing future scratches.

Give me a break on these pictures i’m at work and snapped a few and found an old picture of my S0 before i sold it with the protector still on. The S0 protector was on for a good 6 months. I eventually just took it off before i sold it to show the screen was still perfect.

Lets just say I got all the use out of this. I obviously didn’t take the best pictures of the old watch with the protector bc it looked horrible.

Heres my S3:

You can see how the corners are slightly noticeable.. I can admit that it feels better without the protector but having it on their has saved me so many times since Ive cracked my screen. I do have AppleCare+ so maybe i’ll get a little risky and take it off but for now its fine. Im always accidentally hitting my watch on stuff at work, I’ve hit it a few times at the gym too.

Here is the exact thing i bought off Amazon. Doesn’t say S3 but its fine.

Yep... as said that's the first thing I'm doing today... and I mean first thing as in I'm opening the box right in front of the guy who is putting the protector on it.

It's the same Zagg protector that is on my 8 Plus and iPad Pro... and you can't tell that either of them have a glass protector on. I'm expecting nothing less for the watch too.

Invisible protection is the best protection. :)

Hey, I was told by a Zagg chat person that the current S2 glass screen protectors don't fit correctly and the S3 aren't available yet. If you hear differently, or if you try the S2 and it fits, let us know please? I want to use the Zagg glass protector, too.

Those glass ones with the sides can be terrible too. Lots of haloing, water gets under the corners, and touch sensitivity is compromised over time. They do look really good when they are first placed though.

One of them is called the zagg luxe but there are others. Look up the reviews. They're hit or miss, plenty of bad review, unfortunately.

Skinomi and a couple others make six pack films for around $7 on amazon. They're pretty good, but they do peel off after a bit.

Just FYI I just had my Series 2 replaced because of a cracked screen and the AC rep told me that even if you take it into the store they ship it out and don't do the swap in the store. So you have to make 2 trips to your Apple Store. One to drop it off and then one to pick the new one up. I opened my ticket on a Friday and received my shipping box on Monday and put it into one of the FEDEX drop boxes later that night (it was picked up the next day) and my new one arrived that Friday. Total cost was 73 and some change due to tax. Your other option is they place a hold on your card for the amount of a new watch and they overnight one to you and when they receive your they removed the hold less the 69.99 plus tax.

Are these protector hard to apply? I am usually not so good at this, do you have any tips to share?
thank you

I don’t think they’re hard at all to apply. I apply a lot of the spray solution onto the protector but i also spray my fingers before. Spray the screen a little and just put it on. The little extra solution helps you slide it around until you get it perfect... after that you just squeegee the solution while holding it in place.. after its good the corners will still be up i take a hair dryer to it on low with a good distance and keep pressing the corners down. It’ll eventually stick and hold perfectly.

They told me the same thing last night. My watch comes in and I go there only to find out S2 isn't compatible with S3 and they won't be available for 2-3 weeks.

So... watch is still in the box for 3 more days. I've ordered a $9 screen protector that also fits around the sides from Amazon to use as a filler until the Zagg glass one is available. The Amazon one has a bunch of 5 star reviews so it will do for a couple weeks.

Yeah the Zagg is the one I'm talking about... I have them on the iPhone and iPad and they are great. Will have to see how the watch version works out but either way should be loads better than a film protector.

Will the currently available Zagg screen protector accommodate the S3?

Curious to see how you like it long term. I hated mine after the first swim lol.

I was told no by the rep. The S2 version isn't compatible. Seems odd but whatever. They said the S3 will be available in 2-3 weeks... so my watch is still in the box until I get my filler protection from Amazon on Friday to hold me over till the Zagg is available.

I work in a metal fab shop... I either leave the watch at home or put some protection on it.

I'll post an update.

Short term, I think that's exactly the right thing to do. And I don't remember which way you were leaning on AppleCare+. For me, it looks like a no-brainer, and I don't usually go for that. For you, even more so?

Hated which - watch, screen protector, something else?

I'm leaning towards the AC+ yes. As said I've never had it before and I'm not so much worried about damage to my iPad or iPhone. Both are in cases and protected.

The watch however... well, I'm in a shop full of sheet metal and steel plate and it's on my wrist which makes it a lot easier to scratch or damage.

Still in the box till Friday and I'm fine with it. Not wearing it to work unprotected.

Keep us posted on how things go. As an aside, I have had strong negative opinions about the AW. The additional functionality in wOS 4 and AW S3 got my attention and I bought one sort of expecting to return it. I am totally convinced by this thing, it's a keeper.

They should design some sort of spray that solidifies and becomes invisible on whatever you spray it on, but adds a degree of scratch proofing. Then can removed with some sort of chemical that it reacts to. Should be fine on water-resistant tech.

Someone kickstart it :D

While "they" are at it, "they" should invent an unscratchable, unbreakable glass or one with a air cushion around it so that nothing but your finger can penetrate it.

Also, a watch that shoots laser beams from the red spot on the digital crown.

Awesome. Glad to hear that! Will post an update! Looking forward to getting mine set up!

Screen protector. Water under it, haloing, etc. Take a look at some reviews on the priduct. There are pictures that show my exact issue. The issue seemed common enough that I wasn't really willing to try again, though I couldve just received a bad one,.

Its within 60 days. But I dont feel right getting it after the fact. I bought one of those screen protectors and hopefully the sticky can fill in the scratch. It’s really not noticeable unless its in direct sunlight. Live and learn
I you go into the store and talk to them, MOST times, they have offered to add AppleCare and use an incidence .... so your not cheating the system, they do it for you. ive had this happen before and have heard countless other stories on this as well.
