Anyone tried this? Turns your iPhone essentially into a wifi router, allowing laptops to connect through its internet connection. 10 bucks...

That actually seems pretty awesome.

So it's a tethering app? I use PDANet, available on Cydia. Does the same thing.

Edit: I was wrong.

It's not like PdaNet - it actually broadcasts the SSID network name so you don't have to create an adhoc network. It also does the routing natively in the kernel, so it's less battery and much faster. (Disclosure: I wrote the App :)

Its effing awesome man.

Has it worked well? Are you on a 3GS? How are the data speed?

I have a 3G. Data speeds are great. When I display local APs using NetStumbler, my Netgear AP shows 54 Mbps while my iPhone (on Edge) shows 36 Mbps. I'm not sure where NetStumbler gets this information, but the speed is great and you can't beat the convenience.

MyWi Bug?

1. 3G
2. 3.0
3. jb via redsn0w
4. Enable WiFi Tethering
5. Disable WiFi Tethering

Cydia stops working with the 'Unable to Load (timed out)' error message. I have to reboot the phone to get Cydia to work again

Anyone else seeing this? Perhaps it's a coincidence, although I hit Reload several times and got the Cydia timed out error each time.

No, it's not just a tethering app. What didn't you understand about "Turns your iPhone essentially into a wifi router,"?

Way to be mature. All I knew about the app is the two sentences in the original post. I guess it just works the opposite way? Instead of creating the ad-hoc network on the computer, the phone becomes a router, allowing for more than one connection at a time? Sounds like a cool idea, but I bet it burns through battery just like PDANet.

I might just buy this, but does it also work the other way around? as in access files from a computer/laptop?

Also does it read .avi files?

Way to be mature.

It's inconvenient to be called out for not reading, huh?

Instead of creating the ad-hoc network on the computer, the phone becomes a router, allowing for more than one connection at a time?

And this information was in the 2 sentences in the original post.

were exactly is this supposed to be!?? i cant find it on cydia!?

I found it in Cydia, however I have intelliborn.com/cydia/ defined as a source. Not sure if that's where I'm finding it.

ok ok, you need to install the ROCKapp!

then go to rockyourphone.com (or something like that) and create an account, and bla bla bla...

The RockYour iPhone software does not support the 3GS.
