Release info here - will do a review on my blog here eventually.

Anyhow, I really hope that this can offer some improvement into the world of bluetooth mice. I know some people have better luck than I do, but regardless of brand (including the mighty mouse, logitech v470, kensington, and a couple others), I find bluetooth mice to have a far inferior tracking speed. I might pick this one up so hopefully it's an improvement!

If it's by Razer I would hope that aside from their Pro|Click mouse (which I own and kinda like) they would have better tracking speed. They seem to be geared towards gaming and tracking speed is key.

Yep I agree - the only thing that "scares" me regarding tracking speed is the dual-mode nature of it. You can run either USB or bluetooth. Slightly concerned that BT will suck and USB will be great.

I don't trust Razor mice on Macs. The one I had would constantly double click and double right click on one of my Macs.

Good point. If USB is awesome and BT sucks then what's the point?

You should try another because your issue sounds as though it is isolated.

Yeah, but I really needed a wireless mouse to begin with and the MM is perfect for my needs (for the few times I'm outside of Plex on my Mini ;) )

Yeah, I saw this on a couple of tech sites recently as well.

spaceballl, you should post back on here after you review the mouse. I'd like to know how the responsiveness compares to USB wireless mice.

Razer's selling it as a gaming mouse, unlike the Pro-Click, so I'm guessing they've done something to account for the lag.

If you test under Windows, can you post which stack?

Thanks. Looking forward to your review.

that's because it is being targeted as a travel mouse

You haven't happen to bought the mouse? :) I'm quite interested in this one if it's working well (tracking precision and lag).

Before my current MX518 I had a DeathAdder (non Mac ed.) and it really sucked in Mac OS X.. the tracking precision was awfully bad.

I'd like the idea of jumping onto the BT track, wireless without a dongle is nice. Let's hope Razer is up for the task!

I've never got on with BT mice because of input lag. I don't expect this mouse to be any better, but I'll hold my breath!

email from razer usa

just got an email from razer regarding razer orochi.... according to them, they do not have any drivers for this product that would work for mac :mad::mad: it's really disappointing.

The only razer mouse with official OSX DRIVERS + CONTROL CENTER is the excellent razer deathadder Mac Edition, that I own. I hope for a Razer Orochi Mac Edition, it is really the perfect wireless mouse for a MacbookPro, in a world of stinking 3-buttons bt mice (except radtech but i don't trust them, I only buy major brand mice).
If no drivers are provided, we will use Steermouse universal drivers (20$).

RadTech makes excellent, high quality gear as far as I'm concerned. The MacTruck is is one of the better hardcase solutions for adverse environment travel.

Haven't used their mice though.

I've always wanted 7 programmable buttons on my compact and portable ready travel mouse.

I just bought the Mamba and it is great, everything works awesome and I love the side buttons for exose and for hiding windows. In Windows it works awesome and couldn't love it more.

With most Razer mice with onboard memory, you don't need special drivers in OS X. You can program the mouse in Windows, save the profile, then it'll work fine in OS X when you change profiles. You just have to make sure your mouse buttons are set correctly.

That said, it works well with SteerMouse.
