Engadget reports that Apple has filed testing information with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission for approval of a new Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The filings briefly included basic drawings of the forthcoming devices, although they were quickly removed.
A new Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse have arrived at the FCC, and they've got new model numbers of A1314 and A1296 -- the current wireless keyboard is A1255 and the Mighty Mouse is A1197. That's pretty much all we know for now, but these keyboard dimensions are also smaller than the current model, which rules out a return of the numeric keypad -- sorry to dash your hopes, Excel jockeys.
Several reports in recent days have suggested that a redesigned Apple mouse has been under development and may be released alongside new iMacs in the very near future.

Ah, the sweet sweet smell of crispy Rumors - now with a side of Confirmations.

how about a black or white with backlighting and a full keyboard? is that too much to ask? To be honest though, i don't see myself moving away from logitech.

I would love to get the current bluetooth keyboard, but I use the number pad too much.

I want them to add it back with the number pad. I need it...

Even smaller keyboard? Laame. They better have a big version of this as well, wouldn't that need an FCC filing as well? Hopefully it's not discontinued. (I'm talking about a wired version though)

Smaller??? That is weird. I thought you can not make it any smaller and still usable. And please please please get rid of that stupid ball in my not so mighty mouse cos cleaning it every few days drives me insane.

...NO bluetooth keyboard w/numeric pad. All keyboards are smaller from this 'rumor info', so does that truly point to NO option for a keyboard w/numeric pad via BlueTooth. And, from the looks of it, I see some concrete info on this thread...

New mouse will be nice...not needed for me. But guess we'll just have to wait...

We will see a gesture pad???

11" inches wide, just right to support tablet.

smaller keyboard?? whyyyyyy! Just make it backlight and ill buy it.

Don't think about this as a keyboard for a Mini or iMac but rather a support input device for a tablet. Then it's size isn't that bad.

I do wonder why there is an X'ed out trash can on the bottom of the mouse. I thought Apples goals where to eliminate hazzardous materials from all Apple devices.

But have you ever considered getting one??:D

yes.

but only for the fact that I have a 3GS, iPod Classic, Touch and Nano, I figured the Shuffle is the only thing missing, but I don't see myself using it often :)

but a new touch screen apple remote that was not wifi dependent would be nice. and as much as Ive been waiting to buy a new BT keyboard, i really need one with the numeric keypad. i'll even take a new keyboard thats wired as long as it still has the numeric keypad + backlit.

I'm still rooting for an aluminum bluetooth keyboard with keypad. I use it constantly (not just for work).

maybe this is all part of their grand convergence scheme. For an integrated machine (media center in living room, something in the kitchen, etc.) you don't want a lot of surface area taken up by your keyboard.

Oh boy. New keyboard, new mouse, new imac, new everything! :D

But, how is the already tiny keyboard going to get any smaller?

I have scratched my head for years wondering why apple can build so many things so well except the mouse? They allways try to do something off the beaten path hence Apple mice have sucked for decades.
