zactly, love all my Logitech stuff:cool:
Yup. The DiNovo and DiNovo Edge for Mac, both with glossy black and brushed aluminum, match the alu iMac better than Apple's own white keyboards. Looks even better with an MX Air next to it. Anything black and/or silver goes better with the current lineup than Apple's white keyboards and white soap bar mouse... unless you have an alu/white Mac Mini or an alu Mac Pro w/ Cinema Display 30", then I guess it looks OK since those have no black accents.

The only problem with Logi is that their enthusiasm over Macs is lukewarm at best... LCC is kind of dodgy and a lot of Logi mice have no Mac support, most notably the G9/G9X gaming mouse (best mouse I ever owned, not for gaming but for exquisite precision when you work in Photoshop etc).

New mouse

So it's pretty much confirmed that the new mouse will be touch-capable.

But what if (and this is a very big whatif, I know...) Apple revolutionalised the mousing experience like they did once before, and used all those 10" tablet screens as mice. I can see them doing away with mice altogether, in favour of the way of the future: a tablet!

Oh well... I can dream...

I still think the design will be something like this:

No "real" buttons = no purchase from me
When it comes it my mouse, I don't want touch sensitivity

If all you Mighty Mouse owners would stop eating Cheetos at the same time you're using the Mighty Mouse, your problems with the scroll ball would be over! :D

Mark

Sometimes I wondered the same about peoples old school ball mice at work. I'd use their mouse and it was like it was filled with sand. Open it up and the rollers with covered with a toe jam like substance. Mouse jam I guess. What are people doing that they're getting their mice so greasy and gouped up? Wash your hands people!

I'm guessing food, skin fragments, nose goblins and unmentionables. Studies have shown that computer mice and keyboards are some of the filthiest, most vile objects you can come across, only rivaled by door knobs and escalator handrails.

Nothing is confirmed. Apple has LOTS of patents for ideas that it never uses. :)

If I remember right, telephones and keyboards are the germiest places found ... beating even toilet door handles and toilet seats!

Apple's next patent: the germicidal mouse casing - when you aren't using it, the mouse uses electricity / battery power to heat the mouse to boiling point to kill all the germs. ;)

I'm currently using the full-sized wired aluminium Apple keyboard. I love it, but it'd be awesome if it was backlit and there was a Bluetooth version. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
I would have bought the Bluetooth version if it weren't the horridly cramped, tiny little thing it is.
I think the new wired mini-keyboard like the Bluetooth one is horrid - My grandparents bought an iMac recently with the tiny wired keyboard, I was helping them set it all up (n00bs), and it was so bloody cramped!! :(

Anyways, I'm also using the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. Been through 3 of these since January 2008 -
1st one ball got gunked up that it didn't work *at all*, replaced back in July, with...
2nd one decided it didn't want to be under my control, instead it jumped all over the bloody screen. Took it back 3 weeks later.
The 3rd one I'm currently using - that's been OK. I hope it stays that way!!

PS: Wash your hands before using a MM! :p

That looks quite nice, although I presume the aluminium will be a lot different to the texture on the current keyboard as it'll be in our hands. Quite a while back I decided to buy a wireless mighty mouse for the benefit of no cords - but because of it being bluetooth they was a short delay between mouse movement and cursor movement compared to the wired mighty mouse. Maybe Apple has fixed this issue (if at all its possible) with the new BT mouse/keyboard.

I've been looking/waiting for something to replace my outdated Kensington Trackball... I hope Apple comes out with the answer... This thing is OLD!

Maybe there'll be an ipod dock in this smaller keyboard? Maybe so you can type emails and such on the iphone or ipod touch with this external keyboard.

Lol. it will never happen. I can only dream. :p
