Haven't recharged the battery in almost 72hr now and it's still holding well. Granted, haven't taxed it too much. Did a lot of emailing and watched some streaming video yesterday.

6+ with 8.1

Multiple resets and restores, still not sure if this is considered average battery life

That looks perfectly acceptable to me. You talked on it for about an hour plus other usage.

To those with Facebook... Holy smokes, that is some serious drainage. The OP had over 35% between Facebook and FB Messenger.

The Facebook app is not the problem. It is the location service on the app. Turn it off and you should be fine. This is my iPhone 6 with Facebook.

Christ on a crutch that battery life is insane. Teach me your ways. I have a 6 too, what on earth am I doing wrong....is running my phone down to 0% then charging it back up not recommended?

I've always had success wth running it down to 0%

I guess I should just be satisfied with the 7ish hours I get out of my 6 considering it is exceptionally better than the 5 I had upgraded from. I think I just yearn for how the battery performance was prior 8.1 and get jealous when I see these crazy usage times others are able to maintain . Play on players.

As ive only restored my phone from previous back ups would one recommend wiping it, reinstalling 8.1 and setting it up as an entirely new iPhone?

I always setup my iPhones as new. It's a pain but I usually end up with far less problems and better battery life. I keep a backup in iTunes before wiping though just in case.

Just did a full restore and set the phone up as new, downloaded all my apps again while the the phone was on the charger but when I took it off the battery dropped from 100-95 in minutes. Hopefully it'll work itself out.

Actually, i tested it with and without Apple pay over 2 days. I'm actually getting ~15% better battery life by removing Apple Pay :( I think its because the NFC chip is always on the lookout for a signal. In Android phones, the nfc doesn't get activated until you open the app or turn on the phone saving battery life.

That is at least my experience...if you decide to test it out, please post your results :)

i seem to be ok. i do agree that it definitely drains more to have NFC always on somehow but I think its closer to maybe well under 5 %(which shld be negligible) after more usage before and after and also using apple pay at a few places.

8.1 iPhone 6 real bad battery life

The battery life on my iPhone 6 has not changed after the 8.1 update. Battery life on my 6 was awesome before and still is after.

Still %100, but I did notice battery drains more after updating to 8.1, 8.0.2 was better imo...

Yep mine does that too. Usually around 60 minute of usage then it goes down to 99%. But when I'm listening to music then about 2 hours of music then it goes down to 99%.

Not only that for me battery life has improved a lot on 8.1 for me.
