All location services is turned off in the Systems Sevice (Settings > Privacy > Location services > System Servce). Only Find my iPhone is turned on. Only a few that I need are turned on.

I don't use the stock mail so I have that turned off Push (I use Mailbox). For notifications I have most of them set to not to show up on my lock screen (only phone, messages).

Brightness set to Auto, bluetooth off. I have turned Vibration off when in silent mode (seriously, nobody needs to hear it vibrate). BTW I use wifi 100% of the time. I don't use my phone when there is no wifi. So I rely on wifi heavily.

iOS 8.1 seems fine with battery life on my iPhone 6. It's clearly better than my 5S was as that one would usually be about dead at 5 hours and 30 minutes of usage.

I know I'm speaking of dead device, but I remember with my iphone 4, one day I had the battery down the 11%, and it just shut off. Is that not the case with these newer phones?

(I am currently using a cheap go-phone for a little while until I'm eligible for an upgrade, since the 4 kinda puttered out into death)

Yeah I've had that happen sometimes with the older iPhones too. Hasn't happen yet with my 6 though. I haven't had it actually die yet before, lowest it's gotten was about 3%.

Got my phone switched out yesterday

Had diagnostics run on my (old) phone yesterday, apple care said it wasn't the battery, told em I went through all the steps, resets, restores etc on my own. More than willing to help me out and swapped my phone out for a new one. Got a new phone with 8.0.2, installed 8.1 last night, charged it up, took it off the charger around 10pm PST last night and this is where I am now :') feels good to be back to normal
