10.10.4 beta 4 has dropped for Mac OS X.

Hopefully we will see an update for iOS soon . . .

The "disaster" that isn't for most?

That may well be the case. There are a plethora of use cases and reasons this could be effecting some and not others. Just as the reasons some people maybe prefer to use beta releases to others.

Did you have a point to make, or are you just warming up your digits prior to more meaningful written musings?

The point is that there isn't a disaster related to battery and iOS 8.3. Now, if you're saying that perhaps some users are trying to see if 8.4 might provide better battery for them, then that certainly seems like a meaningful statement--although even with that there are sometimes issues given that people have all kinds of different experiences with battery life in different beta releases compared to the final release.

Otherwise, the way it was written on its own, it comes off as not having much of a point either (aside from perhaps unnecessary hyperbole and/or FUD of some sort). So, perhaps not what you intended that to convey, but that's basically what it seems to be conveying nonetheless.

It's a disaster for those experiencing issues. I never said it was a pandemic. Listen man.

Did you even read my original post and to whom I was replying to? The question was related why why _some_ people decide to go with beta releases.

If that was the response then it would have been worded along the lines of "some people might be experiencing battery drain issues with the last update or perhaps even other issues and might be looking for a new beta to see if those issues are resolved". The way you worded it used rather different language conveying quite a bit more than that--that basically in a generic sense 8.3 is a disaster for whatever reason. Again, if that's not what you meant, that's fine, but that's not what the phrasing and wording of what you wrote originally seemed to convey. Seems like this dead horse has been beaten enough though.

It will be rushed for public release due to the Arabic bug I would guess

Possibly, possibly might stay on the same schedule, and possibly there might be an iOS 8.3.1 patch release prior to it as well.

Again, you missed the context completely in that you failed to read the original post that I was responding to. Good day to you.

Yes. And in fact, Chinese government has blocked that message from sending through wechat and qq, because that message will crash their own apps. (typical way Chinese government block transmission of information)

I believe apple will release the final version right at wwdc.

I'm not so sure about that. I think there could be some beats related features that they don't want to show anyone until WWDC. So they may release another beta including said features at WWDC

I think the new music app will be shown as a feature of IOS 9... And then they will say that they are making that feature available early... Probably 2-4 weeks after WWDC.

As a feature of iOS 9? That music app? Or they want to release iOS 9 right at wwdc, jumping over iOS 8.4? Less possible.

What apple does best is shocking audience with new things and hidden bonuses. But I think, this would never work as good as it was before.

No... They will not release IOS9 early... What I'm saying is they are not likely to waste time talking about iOS 8 .4... The new music app will be shown as part of iOS 9.... But then they will offer that one new feature from iOS 9 as part of an IOS 8.4 update... I think that that's just how they will present it

All in all, iOS 8.4 may be released right at wwdc. And I don't think there is anyone working at apple staying in this forum.

IOS 8.4 music app is still not usable in landscape mode. The old one just gives you a flat album view. That is worse than cover flow. And, this app still needs lots of usability enhancement. Really. For iOS 9, it should provide an alternative for all devices don't support force touch to activated features, if there are some.

Tell you what? Current force touch is in fact a long press with haptic feedback! Maybe what I am using is not correct, but I cannot find a better use.

8.3 beta 4

Apple has said that they are working on a fix for the Arabic text bug... 8.3.1 will probably be the next thing to drop... They may or may not drop 8.4 beta 4 at the same time... But not before that.. And if they do drop them at the same time that bug may or may not be the only thing that has been addressed in iOS 8.4 beta 4.

I would expect 8.3.1 sometime between now and Tuesday.

Or they can potentially address the issue in 8.4.

They are not going to wait until the release of 8.4 to address something like that... Especially with all the media attention that it's generating.

Exactly. 8.4 is still 1-2 weeks out. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 8.3.1 tomorrow or Monday/Tuesday to fix the message bug.

Quite possibly, but it can also depend on how close they are with 8.4.
