I'm fortunate enough not to have had an issue with the included Apple charger, but my Belkin is certainly not working correctly any longer. Like others here, I went through a number of steps with Belkin support and ultimately was told that they will continue investigating, but it's likely going to require a software update on Apple's end to restore functionality to the charger. ?
May I ask what power supply you are using with the Apple fast charging cable?

I followed the above posted advice and it works. Turn off your Apple Watch and placed it while turned off on the Belkin charger. The watch will turn on and start charging. Please note if you follow charging on your iPhone battery widget it exhibits some strange behaviour. Whereas before the charge would start incrementally increasing, the charge appears unchanged for a while then jumps in ~10% increments. Let me know if it works.

Just FYI: I unpaired my watch and re-paired it without restoring from backup and for the last 3 days, fast charging has worked as intended on the 3-in-1. I'll report back if anything changes.

EDIT: This was done on 8.5.1.

I just tried that this morning. It did seem to fast charge on the Belkin Boost Up (watch-only) charger, but I was already at 80%, so I will check again later today or tomorrow to see if it still appears to be fast charging.

So suddenly not working even on my included Apple Watch charger, very slow charging. Was working as normal since watchOS 8.5. I'm pissed that this issue is still not resolved or even acknowledged by Apple more than three weeks after this update.

Interesting. My issues seem resolved for now, following another unpair-pair-setup as new cycle post 8.5.1 update. I'll keep monitoring it though to see if the "fix" sticks or if it is only temporary.

And now it’s not working with the Belkin charger again. Was on the Belkin for 20 minutes and went from 33% to 33%. Nothing.

Switched to Apple charger, after 5 minutes I’m at 39%.

I’ve had something similar happen - the watch was on the Belkin for about 15 minutes or so and only went up by 1%. I was about to switch it over to the Apple charger when something distracted me. When I checked again 5 minutes later the watch charge was suddenly 20% higher and kept going up fast after that.

Strange.

Well I‘ve just reverted to turning the watch off before putting it on the charger until the next update drops.

Me too. I began experiencing the lack of charging/super slow charging from the OEM cable yesterday. Going to power down first every time I charge now too

I’ve had 2 consecutive successful fast charging attempts after turning “Nightstand Mode” off.

Edit: 3 charges. Maybe this is a bug related to Nightstand Mode?? ??‍♂️??

I've noticed that when my watch is not charging, picking it up does not release Nightstand Mode all the time - the nightstand display will rotate, but the watch face doesn't return - it can take a few minutes for it to return.

Same here. It kind of gets “stuck” in Nightstand Mode so that’s what made me think to try turning it off… so far so good.

4 charges & still fast charging like normal! No need to pickup and put back down or restart the watch first.

Has anyone else tried disabling Nightstand Mode? I think this is my longest streak.

At the risk of asking a ‘silly’ question. How do you know if the watch isn’t fast charging?

New owner of a S7, so far I’ve only charged overnight using the in-box (fast ?)charging cable and the Apple 20w charger bought at the same time.
At the moment i’m not wearing overnight but may consider doing so overnight charging won be possible.

If I put my watch on charge at (say) 50% what level(s) should I see after, say, an hour on charge ?

In 45 minutes AW should be charged from 0 to 80%.
So IMHO for like 20-30 minutes it should be full charged from 50% (keep in mind that low % to 80% is always the fastest for every device charging).
Someone mentioned 75 minutes from 0% to full tank :)

EDIT: It took 40 minutes from 47% to 100% and notification on iPhone on original charger and powerbank with 18W power delivery

I updated to WatchOS 8.6b1 two days ago, and had two successful charges from 25-35% to 100% in under an hour, using the Belkin fast charger (I left Nightstand mode on). I was able to get the WatchOS beta installed without updating my phone to the beta, and have seen no issues with the beta in terms of features or battery life.

I wish I would have tried Nightstand mode before updating, but it’s too late to go back.
