I was hoping for a slight price drop on the stock version of the Mac Pro. A new video card would have been nice too.
I'm sure multi has already ordered one in his sleep on the west coast...![]()
8-cores Mac Pro are up on the apple siteyes finally
Not what i was waiting for. I sure hope this is a stop-gap update till June.
I agree with dmelgar wholeheartedly as well. I know this topic's been beaten to death, but in order for Apple to compete head to head in the Intel world they need to get a mid-range desktop machine halfway between the Mac mini and the Mac Pro.
I have an idea for a mid-range computer to fit between the $500 Mini and the $2500 Mac Pro. I'm thinking about $1500. Let's take a portable computer's innards, a 17"/20"/24" LCD screen, a built in camera and a couple of other things and package it neatly in an all-in-one desktop design.
Since I thought of it, lets call it the MyMac. No, that doesn't seem right. OurMac? YourMac? There's got to be a better name for it...
I guess the wait is still in actve mode for youAm I the only one disappointed? No price reduction on the 2.66 or 3.0 quad-core; no new graphics cards ... while 8-core is certainly nice, I was hoping for a price reduction on the 3.0 quad-core.

This is the way Apple do business. I'm surprize that they didn't hack the price of the 8-cores higher considering all the hipe on many forums.
Don't worry you are not alone I too am still on wating mode![]()
so we get the most powerful processors Intel makes for consumers and you guys are still bi*ching. It is clear that some people will never be happy. If you are so hell bent on getting a machine that meets your spec's, build it yourself. Plain and simple. My mac pro is far from outdated or behind the times. It hasn't stuttered once and I have pushed it plenty. It's clear you never plan on buying one so relax already. This "Apple should do this or they suck" mentality is getting super annoying. Apple is pretty clear on how they operate their business, so I'm not sure why you all waste your time. Go do some work.![]()
