Let's all be real here.

The X is the Future of the iPhone here now but not perfect.

The 8 + is Apple Perfection of the last 10 years of iPhone. But it can be debated that they dropped the ball on not making it OLED.

There is no denying this.

No you're not lol. 7-8 hours use is the max on an X... 12-14 hours of use on the 8+
Yes iam actually.

First charge

10 hours usage

27 hours standby

2nd charge

9 hours, 30 mins

24 hours standby

23% left

So yes the battery life on the x is outstanding. So no the battery life is not double at all. I question if it is any different at all

and not people are not getting 12-14 hours usage on the 8 plus. 11? sure but not up to 14.

Now before you attack me, here are some reasons why i feel this way
* Bigger phone
* Better battery
* benchmarks are impressive
* touch ID is hard to get rid of
* Fixing the X is highly expensive
* no home button
I upgraded to the 8 and i returned it for the 8+. This was when regret started to kick in wishing i waited for the X. When i got my X, it felt like i was using an 8 but without the home button. Coming from an iphone 6s, the 8 + feels like the real upgrade.

I get so tired of posts like this, they're wearing me down. Your title needs to say "for me". What you wrote doesn't apply to everybody. As for me... Bigger phone = worse. Maybe better battery in the 8+ but I would expect that because it's huge. Benchmarks are a teensy bit better, big woop. Face ID is better than Touch ID, for me. No home button is better, for me. It's a huge phone with huge bezels and if that makes you happy then that's great but please don't make generalizations that the 8+ is better because it not for everybody, it is for YOU.

i don't know about that.. if there was no X, i'd likely own an iPhone 8 right now.. not 8 Plus.

again, it's highly subjective to claim any phone is perfect or the best.. because to me, the 8 is better than 8+.. it's a better size.. and in a handheld and pocket stored device, size trumps many other factors (at least, to me)

so yes, there is denying that.

Got any screenshots of your supposed 10+ hours on an X?

I'm at 50% with 4 hours and 11 minutes on my X.

The x is a great phone, but what apple needed to release was the iphone x +. I will buy that

I can already picture how swipe gestures will work on older iPhones. Just put the gesture line there. Same animations. Swipe down for notifications (left-middle) and Control Center (right side status bar) will be easy for anyone familiar with Android. Even tap to wake can be added.

If anyone has ever used Samsung Pay, it's a swipe up from the bottom of the screen as well. The older iPhones would have an advantage because if the screen gets badly, badly damaged, you still have the home button and Assistive Touch to use to go home.

Older iPhones have a variety of things to wake it whether hardware or software. You need to have multiple pathways. You can't just rely on one way, one road.

Watch David destroy the X. Fast forward to the end. Stopped working once the screen went out...

^ You will miss that home button. Tap to wake, raise to wake, physical home button, gesture swipes, Assistive Touch, Touch ID, Face ID, I want all those options. Versatility. Give us options, Apple.

"Superior" is such a subjective term. Most of your points are purely based on your opinion and/or specific to your personal needs.

8 plus bigger? Yep, I totally agree. What really stands out to me as being bigger is the form factor, the way it feels in my hand. In a way, it almost feels clumsy compared to the X. And to most willing to give the X an honest try, I think you'd find that they would disagree that touch ID is "hard to get rid of." Oh, and that home button that feels like a legacy feature? Don't even know its missing. Better battery? Not my findings so far either.

But these are my opinions and just that. More importantly, I'm not trying to claim one is more "superior" to the other.

And I get it, the 8 plus is a comfort zone. It feels like home. I've basically carried an iPhone 8 plus in my pocket since September 19, 2014, I'm very familiar with the phone. Aside from some horsepower, battery and camera upgrades, the 6 plus is essentially the same phone function/appearance/form factor wise as the 8 plus. It's a wonderful device, no doubt. It's tried and true and I've loved my 6/7 pluses. But to come out and say the 8 plus is superior to the X is pure opinion and mostly conjecture. They are both "superior" phones to someone.

I think the bottom line here is, no one really cares what you or I think is superior. And they honestly shouldn't.

OP is in denial and regrets not getting an X so he justifies his decision to having bought an 8 Plus to feel better about his purchase. That's all this thread is.

I mean you might be right. Green lines on the X, IR dots affecting peoples vision, FaceID wont work with some sunglasses. It just goes on and on and on.

The 8+ is Apple perfection.
glad we are on the same boat.

Keep dreaming
looks like my dream came true with the 8 plus

All your points are subjective. You're convincing yourself that you'll be better off with your 8+ but nobody believes you.
mostly everyone

Any Plus is better than the X in all ways
great minds think alike

I certainly wont attack you but these are all subjective points minus the screen size and perhaps battery. The Plus does have the bigger screen (even that is somewhat arguable in terms of total area but for videos you will absolutely get a lesser experience)

It’s difficult to put a value on something for everyone. I’m also on the fence on whether the extra $250 is justifiable. Regardless, what is great for someone may not be so for another. I don’t find myself missing Touch ID at all. In fact I’m amazed how fast I’ve transitioned after ten years of using an actual button.

Little surprised people keep taking stinky bait from poor fishermen
if " bait" you are here.

oh i bought one since day one. after a few days i missed the plus. don't be mad you still have the 5s ;)

Obviously its the superior phone, but do you think someone that paid over $200 more for their X would admit that?

If its shiny, new, and more expensive its gotta be better right?

* benchmarks are impressive
* touch ID is hard to get rid of
* Fixing the X is highly expensive
* no home button

*Benchmarks are impressive but not better so that one doesn’t count

*touch id isn’t hard to get rid of for ME...get the point? It depends on the person.

*the price to fix the phone has nothing to do with how good a phone is.

*no home button...again it depends on the person

I love my X and I’m coming from a 7 plus . People are acting like these are the last phones they will ever purchase .. lol .. The X works better for me since I’ve had plus phones for the last 2 years . I actually missed the normal size phone . X is a great phone imo

This was a solid post. I was just thinking how cool iOS feels now with these gestures and how much of a new experience (IMO) the X is. It may not be for everyone similar to the plus models, but it’s a good phone anyway you look at. Now I think the price is about $2-$300 to high bur that’s a separate topic.

I love the plus and but I love the size of the X a little bit more. Let’s be real, the X is still a large phone in its own right.
