Don't know if anyone noticed, but according to @musclenerds tweet, this upcoming jailbreak will be done via iphone!

Marciton: @MuscleNerd For My holidays should I bring with me my macbook or my Vaio to JB the iPhone4 ? ;->

No info on ETA, but asking obviously won't speed up the process. Anyway, looking forward to this new jailbreak!

Let's see, I don't want to directly ask him when the next jb is coming out, so I'll ask what device I should bring on my next holiday. A real Mensa candidate question.

Also saw some dev talking about it in their IRC channel. I'm like 99% it'll be a browser based jailbreak.
 
If so, how does this work with an un-activated iPhone 4 when all I see is thr connect to my itunes logo. I wonder if it would still give the option to use it with my iMac? Hmmmm.....

I'm pretty sure the upcoming jailbreak won't include hacktivation. You'll have to get someone elses sim to activate your phone, then run the JB.

The hardest part about this is even if I use someone else att sim, itunes tells me that I can only use the original owners info (zip code and last 4 digits of tax id) to activate the phone. Or does this itunes message change if I put in someone else's sim?

I don't think thats ever happened to me, but I don't have too much experience with that.

Lol what are you talking about? Did you not read the tweet? And is it really that hard to believe? Not like theres NEVER been a browser based jb before. Oh well, we'll see :)
 
I thought I read another tweet from a dev team member that said the JB would be untethered. That means browser-based, right?

Browser-based and untethered don't go hand in hand. Userland jailbreaks (if im not mistaken) do go hand in hand with being untethered however.
