iPhone 8/Plus 99% Exactly 1 month?

I updated and checked my 7+ and it says its 90%. But I was at an apple store 4-5 months ago and the guy told me my battery was just about 50% and that I would need to get a new one?
I bought my iPhone 8 Plus on launch day (Sept 22nd) and I'm at 99% capacity. I would consider myself a semi heavy user. I charge my phone with a mix of wired and wireless charging
