Umm.. what do movies have to do with this? Captain America started back in the WW2 days. That was nearly 70 years ago. You want to talk about reboots? As mentioned before, there were 4 different ones while Rogers was in suspended animation, one turned out to be a traitor, while one died of cancer/old age with Rogers at his bedside (going off of memory of Marvel's book of the Dead and Inactive).
Either way, Cap has gone through numerous reboots, none of which have anything to do with movies. Besides, who said that this couldn't be worked into their movies?
As far as creative decision, ponder this: The first Human Torch wasn't Johnny Storm, nor was he part of the Fantastic Four. Follow the Vision's storyline, and relate that to Storm, and then we can revisit creativity.

There has already been speculation on this since, Chris will be done with the Marvel Universe (six film contract) after the next three movies. And since Captain America is pretty big right now, this might be the right time to introduce the new Captain. I can see them using the serum losing it lust and aging the Captain story line.
Six film contract, eh? Would this include the FF? If so, he's at five now..
BL.
No, not included,
Captain America First Avenger
Avengers
Captain America Winter Soldier
Avengers 2:
Captain America 3:
Avengers 3:
The cameo in the last Thor movie was outside his current contract, according to what I have been reading.
Got it.
And apparently, he isn't part of the rumoured new FF movie that will be coming out in 2015. Whole new cast, according to IMDb.
BL.
Correct..... Which I am actually interested in seeing. I was not impressed with the first go around of the FF, but this one has my interest peaked!
I wonder how they are going to work the family plot here, as the actor playing Johnny Storm is black, while Sue is white.
BL.
That is one of the things that has me interested? Was the mom, uh huh, married before, affair, adopted maybe?
I like the FF, they are not my favorite by any stretch in the comic book universe, but I thought the first two movies were horrible and barely watchable. So I am hoping the new spin and new spin on things makes for a better movie.
Which goes completely against their family timeline unless that gets altered in some stupid way, where Susan's mother dies, father gets remarried, and has Johnny. Otherwise, this is going to be messed up.
I'm still hoping they bring in some fiery redhead to play Frankie Raye, but that may be my childhood crush on her and Firestar speaking.![]()

Honestly, I think Fox just wussed out on Susan's casting.
Everything I'm hearing out of the director, the less interested I am in FF. Which is sad, because I was really excited when Michael B Jordan got cast as Johnny.
When the director straight up said that he's ignoring the comics to make a "gritty and realistic" Fantastic Four, he kinda lost me.
The Fantastic Four isn't "dark", it's a wonderful family dynamic, with over the top science fiction.
Honestly, I think the best Fantastic Four movie was made by Pixar. It was called The Incredibles.
Anyways, after really thinking about the topic, who really cares what race or nationality these characters are portrayed as?
Well, Thor comes from a pantheon that was revered here since at least the bronze age. I'd prefer it if Marvel left our Gods alone. Making Thor female is bizarre. It's a male god with a male name and a male "real world" history. I understand that Americans have no relation to either the god, the name or the history. But that still doesn't make it OK.
The obsession with painting things black takes a new turn.
There are many talented black actors who deserve a leading role but to choose somebody for a role because of their race (especially when the role doesn't call for it) is really racist.
Instead of making Captain America black for the sake of making him black, why not just make a film featuring a black comic book hero. Besides, Asians, Latinos, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders are much more under-represented than blacks. Native American Captain America seems good to me.
My sole issue with Sam becoming Captain America is that it will not be permanent. He'll be Cap until just before Captain America 3 comes out and then he won't. This happened to Bucky Barnes, he was Cap for some time and then a few months before Captain America The First Avenger was released, Steve is back.* I'm glad Sam is getting the boost, but the fact that it's a stunt move is disappointing. Whatever... I am so used to Marvel comics pulling a Lucy and Charlie Brown football stunt, I'll probably just become a Marvel movie person.
Same thing for Female Thor stand in > back to the status quo when the next film comes out.
*Which honestly is fine because I prefer Bucky as his own character and not as Cap. Sam will make the better Captain America as far as I'm concerned.
Interesting here to note how no-one has complained about Nick Fury. But it's okay for him to have the race change, no?

If I remember correctly, there were three different Buckys, with one of them changing the name altogether and becoming Nomad.
If anything, Sam being Cap may play out in one of their alternate universes, just like how Moralez is Spiderman.
Interesting here to note how no-one has complained about Nick Fury. But it's okay for him to have the race change, no? Or even notice how no-one has complained that before CA: The First Avenger came out, Captain America was DEAD. Shot and killed by his wife. But throw in a race change - and in Thor's case, a gender change - and everyone gets up in arms.
Side note about Rogers being dead; they could have really complicated things if the shooter had yelled out "Justice is Served!" - bringing the entire Scourge story back from the dead (pun intended).

I'm going to be honest. I used to loathe the Earth-1610 (Ultimate Universe) with a passion. Then I stopped reading comics after the whole thing with Wasp in Ultimatum.
Then a friend had me read the first arc with Miles as Spidey. I immediately fell in love with Miles as Spidey, now with the new Ultimates and Fantastic Four books, I love Earth-1610 now. I don't remember if Sam survived Ultimatum, but I could see him taking the role of Cap in the Ultimates (tho... I'll be honest, I loved the page where Storm has the shield in the last big event. So much so, I bought the original page from the artist).
I think Miles is a better fit for Spidey than Peter ever was.

It's not about you. Marvel comics is American.Ok, a couple of things:
1.Why do you think I am American? Because of my profile location?
2. Even if I was an American, why would you generalize in such a way?
3. I'm agnostic. I wouldn't care if Jesus was portrayed as a black woman. Its a comic book, bro. Use your imagination.
