2 tone? Oh well I'm over my dislike of it. Just release it already! I have my $$ ready! Can't wait!

Change for the sake of change is stupid. This looks like an excellent improvement over the current design.

Change is not synonymous with revolution... this is certainly an evolutionary product from what should / used to be a revolutionary company.

I'm confused:

- Bigger screen
- UNIBODY DESIGN
- Metal backing
- New dock connector
- New headphone placement
- New speaker system
- LTE
- Possibly NFC
- Faster processor

The 3GS and 4S both kept the same design. This is a new design along with the typical upgrades we got with the 3GS and 4S internally....

EDIT: This is just what we can tell... we don't know any of the other secrets it has.

It also has:
- In-cell technology

Possibly:
- IGZO display

Apparently not good enough for some people huh? They want it to scratch their ass while teleporting added. THEN it'll be up to standards.

This looks more like an evolution (4GS) than a revolution (5).

I think the opposite. The 4S was one over 4 though. And the 3GS over 3G. I think Apple's major/minor revision scheme is holding up pretty well. If it will end up using a unibody design, that will be a major deprture in design, weight, and overall "feel". And Apple usually accompanies notable new designs with notable new hardware. I'm unfortunately less impressed by what will run it – iOS 6. That feels like a 5.5 to me. *shrug*

The website won't let me read it because I'm using Internet Explorer? Lame.

(And before you say it, I can't change. I'm at work, and IE 8 on XP is mandated by IT. Guess I'll have to wait until I get home.)

Use mobilizers like Instapaper, Readability, Pocket. Or open the page with iPhone.

I like the design personally. But I wish the home button gets replaced with Magic Trackpad like clickable gesture area.

Some people seem to forgot that Apple doesn't live in vacuum. Yes, this looks like a major upgrade when you ignore the rest of the smartphone market. Compare it to competitors and suddenly your new iphone is just a catchup game and not even a good one.

All I really want is LTE and Siri. Other than that, I'm very happy with the iPhone 4 as it is.

When I need a bigger screen for stuff, I just use my iPad 3.

You've been lucky then!

I have used a case on my iPhone 4 since day one and it is crack free, but "All" of my friends on the other hand have cracked their phones by not using cases. Most of them cracked just by putting their phone down on a table and some by bumping into a hard surface while in their pockets.

I've been caseless for over a year with my iPhone 4 and there's no cracking problems on my end. Either your friends lied to you or they're just clumsy. I've even had it fall out of my shorts pocket and slide for several feet on a sloped parking lot and it didn't crack.

I'm glad someone who knows what he's talking about has done an analysis of this design and pointed out why it's so damn good.

People will bitch and moan because that's what people like to do. Let them. I'm looking forward to this one. First ever unibody smartphone, 7.6 mm thick, the same brilliant antenna design from the 4S and with a whole bunch of new goodies thrown in for good measure.

Some people will think it's not good enough but then no one can really say what it is they would prefer other than "I want a 5" screen and a massive battery!!!" as if that's innovation! Oh well, let them have their rants. I'm sure it makes them happy.

If you think the iPhone battery sucks, then you would wanna throw any android phone against the wall!

Yeah, I don't get why people think the iPhone battery sucks. Mine hardly ever goes below 70%.

But the Droid Razr MAXX is the exception to the "Droids have weak batteries." thing.

What do you want a phone to look like? Would you prefer it be shaped like a moose?

How is Apple less revolutionary now that it used to be? Examples please.

They don't know. None of them know. When pressed they will usually ask for a bigger screen or inductive charging or some other gimmick. And they really seem to be missing the importance of this unibody casing. The reason this new iPhone will be so thin and light and sturdy is because Apple has perfected this style of casing design from the macbook air to the new pros and is now bringing it to the smartphone space. That's a really big deal but, no, people want to moan that the screen is too small!

When everyone was complaining about the two tone back I made a point of posting about how Apple's designs are always driven by function. We now know that this casing allows for the benefits of unibody in a phone - without those top and bottom sections this wouldn't be possible. Form following function - excellent design.

There's a lot of design energy going into a device that's just going to be covered up with a case anyway. Yes, I have managed to drop and sit on mine several times.

Unibody is cool and all but Apple needs to stop saying that it increased durability. It doesn't. Its the same in cars. Cars/trucks with frames are almost always more durable than unibody cars. Unibodies are more susceptible to warping and are almost impossible to get back in shape without replacing the entire body.
