I got my iphone x yesterday. First thing I did was put the screen protector on it and my otterbox before I even powered it on. I am not taking chances with this getting damaged. I have had many iphones and this one amazes me. First off it completely connected to Verizon without my doing anything except typing in my Apple ID and my phone number. That was it. I was like surely it isn't connect already but it was. The speed of this phone amazes me. I did have to download 11.1.2 right away. I am in love with this phone.
Mine is in an OtterBox, too. I never used one before but got - Defender for $20 off of Amazon during a brief special. It’s bulky but nice.

Hi

I see many threads with concerns regarding their iPhone X. I understand the more problems you have the more you post, if you are simply happy with it most of the people don't come to post to any forum.

In my case I would like to post a thread about how happy I am with my X. I am coming from a S7 Edge and previously an iPhone 6. I love the way my iPhone X works, I had some concerns with the battery life but after another day of quite intense work I am at 5h30mins usage (mostly calls and emails), 11h standby with a 37% battery, so not bad.

Apart of the battery I love everything else, the look, the feelings (smoooooth), the gorgeous screen, the new gestures (i already loved moving from the bottom for multitasking on my iPad Pro) and FaceID (works amazing!). So, overall, a great phone so far.

I agree, I came from a 7 plus and I love everything about the X. Battery is good, camera is phenomenal, screen is beautiful and the build quality is great. Plus Face ID works great for me as well. Animojis are also a nice touch.

The combination of performance, camera, size, battery life, display and new gestures + FID are a winner for me. I'm extremely satisfied. I was on the road with it last week, 5 days OOT, never had a single battery concern, FID worked as expected, got some beautiful photos, and even though it doesn't seem like that much difference, it was a joy to carry vs. my previous Plus sized phone.

Really happy with my new iPhone X, which I got on Monday..... Although I'd been hesitant about Face ID, it really works and that is a happy surprise! I haven't shot many photos yet with the new phone but the few that I tried were surprising in how well the phone's camera handled low-light situations. Holding the phone during long phone calls has been a much better experience than holding my iPhone 7 Plus. No hand cramps afterward! The screen on this thing is gorgeous and the sound quality excellent. Watched a short video, played some music -- just terrific. No issues with headaches or eye strain, which is good. I have spent the past couple of days trying this-and-that on my new iPhone X and so far have been very, very pleased. This one's a keeper!

X marks the spot.

This iPhone is the smartphone I’ve been dreaming about. The past two years I’ve commented more than once about how much I wanted a Samsung Galaxy designed smartphone that ran iOS and used Apple’s internal hardware paired with Samsung’s AMOLED displays. Well, fast forward two years and whala!

The AMOLED panel is an absolute pleasure to use and is in my opinion the best feature about this new design. The camera is amazing and the design just oozes premium in your hand. It’s literally my Goldilocks iPhone and I couldn’t be happier.

Went from an iPhone 5 and AW S0 to an X and S3-- no surprise here, but I'm quite happy!

Finally could upgrade the bitrate on my stored music, and hold a library of pictures, and download offline maps without counting bits.

The display if freaking amazing. Truetone is the greatest innovation in readability since retina.

Notch? What? I sincerely thought this might be an issue given the amount of attention it's gotten, but all it does is mean the topline widgets have less space to play. No loss really, except I can't tell if my alarm is set. The notch is the non-issue of the year, I think.

Slowly getting used to the larger size of the device. The fact that the keyboard can be biased to the left or right side of the display for one thumb typing is nice.

So happy to have glass front and back again. Missed it since the 4. Feels nice in the hands, it's as grippy as it should be, and the weight feels like you're holding something of value.

Running case free, and despite the combined wisdom of YouTube preaching doom, it's still not cracked...

Glad to see a thread like this!

Too many times, it's always the negative that are focused on a device versus the positives. The reality is the iPhone X Will ultimately be recepted fairly well by many. It's just the negatives are usually highlighted on a tech forum to discuss complaints, manufacturing defects, etc.

I for one LOVE my iPhone X. I'm using it without a case (as I have with every iPhone since the iPhone 3G, nine years ago) and after five days with it, I'm still blown away every day by how amazing the screen is, how fluid it feels, and how everything just POPS. I don't know ... it's an amazing device. It's absolutely GORGEOUS. And I love that I can now unlock and use the phone with ease, even while wearing gloves. Coming from Plus phones (6 Plus, 6S Plus, and then a 7 Plus) I do wish the screen was a bit wider, but the smaller size makes it easier/more secure to grip, and it's just fun to use. That's not to say the UI is perfect - I hate that I can't see at a glance when my AirPods are connected, or when DND is active, but those are minor complaints that will hopefully be addressed soon.

Anyway, damn. Look at that home screen! It looks so much better in person, but you get the idea. It's absolutely stunning. And without a case or screen protector, it FEELS as smooth as it looks/operates. Love it.

edit: I also upgraded from a launch day AW SS (Series 0) to an SS Series 3 at the same time I got the iPhone X, and am equally impressed - THIS is the Apple Watch I wanted, years ago. So responsive and quick, and awesome battery life ...
