OMG I haven’t thought of that in quite a while, lol

I don't feel represented. Where's an emoji of a cynical 45 year old man smiling sarcastically at a millennial when they think they're clever?
An iPhone XS can create a Memoji like that for you.

Probably an emoji designer is a relative of Tim.
I cannot imagine how such a useless thing can become a headline for an OS...
Or maybe they want to give Ryan Reynolds things to mock in Deadpool 3.

Oh wait!!!! I want Deadpool emojis!!! Apple can we have some??? :-D
Sigh, such hate directed to the guy at the top.

OTOH, Deadpool specific emojis would be way cool.

Where is the two girls and a cup emoji. What about two man and a mug emoji. Or a couple with 5 kids and a case of red wine emoji because the mother in law has a 12 gauge and she feeds her 30 kids in the basement in chains with cheese soaked in rat blood??

Is there an “I’m sick of people complaining about emojis” emoji? Or an “I’m sick of people thinking artists design hardware, write software, fix bugs or do QA” emoji?

Give them time....

I'm pretty sure the only four of things I've ever used are a smilie face, a lol face, a blushing face and a thumbs up. I never have used any of the others to my recollection.

And yet, you are forced to look at them? Why is that?

I just want to be able to delete the ones I won't use or flat out disagree with. Give me a customization feature and stop forcing me to see things your way.

I also love how people just type lol for no reason :D

lol omg
[doublepost=1538744430][/doublepost]
Yeah because no one ever typed lol when they are referring to a joke. And a emoji to BOOT lol eww

This IS an emoji story...let's be sensitive to that and use what they give us.

Exactly why in the world do we need emojis?

They are slowly breaking down languages till we are all on the same one and only "speak" in pictures. When you meet someone on the street, you will just hold up your giant phone screen with emojis.

I mean... they have had that feature since at least iOS11 if not iOS10.

Type a word, and if the word reflects an emoji the emoji appears in the word picker above the keyboard.

Maybe you missed it as you use 3rd party keyboards but they have had it for 1-2 years now.
Predictive emoji was one of the features introduced with iOS 10 back in Fall 2016... about a year and a half before GBoard introduced it on iOS...

is there something I am missing with these emojis? We used to have like 12 smilies and we didn't use some of them.
Who needs a Microbe emoji or thread emoji?
Who is going to scroll through pages and pages of emojis?

and in all honesty the art style sucks... BBM were much better. There are other stuff like on Telegram that look much better.

Apple’s not the one designing these emojis from scratch. Some organisation comes up with them, and Apple simply needs to code them in. It’s not really that much effort on their part in the greater scheme of things, so there’s not really much reason to not include them.

I do agree that we need a better way of accessing them. As it is, I probably just cycle through a few more commonly used ones (which I access using text expansion, so I hardly access the emoji keyboard either way).

Speaking of emoji, since we are, what about representing all those people out there with 3 kids, or how about the ones with 5 kids, or 6? These poor people aren't getting their due! How about the ones with 3 boys, 1 girl and a cat? It's just not right!

My relatives tell me they get that big in central Florida.

EVERY bug is that big in Florida....

Except firing the emoji artists won't suddenly make qualified people show up in other areas. Look on their site, they're always hiring .

Bla, bla, see my replies to the other person. Nobody said anything about anyone magically appearing.

Hiring does not mean extra people in an area, people come and go when you have lots of employees. If you think they just continuously hire and constantly put on extra employees you are mistaken. They have budgets for a certain amount unless the big shots want to focus on a certain area such as all important emoji’s.

Bye

They have Google and YouTube for that.

Jaja, true.

On GBoard when I swipe a word that has an emoji, the emoji is suggested as one the alternates for what I inputted.
Maybe Apple can cop^H^H^H adopt a similar feature for the iPhone's keyboard.
.
Who am I kidding, they can't even get a keyboard entry method that doesn't require hunting and pecking.
Do you know what "hunt and peck" is? It is not "what people do when they don't swipe". It's someone who doesn't know how the keys are laid out on a keyboard, searching for each letter they need. On iOS, I don't "hunt and peck", I type. Works pretty well. On iOS 10.3.3 (and probably earlier) if I select a word by double-tapping on it, one of the alternatives that Apple's predictive keyboard suggests is the appropriate emoji, if there is one. Evidently you haven't been paying attention. And Apple already got a variety of keyboard entry methods that allow swiping, for those who like swiping. They accomplished this by adding a mechanism that allows users to install third-party keyboards. Perhaps you've heard of this. Perhaps you used it to install GBoard.

This emoji fascination is like getting your car back from the mechanic and him gloating about how well the car was washed..
