The icons of the ports reveal that this case version is thinner than the previous ones, as with the previous ones the icons appeared more ABOVE the ports... Also the headphone jack connector has metal rings instead of plastic..

Not necessarily true. The 17" MBP, which I have, is slightly thinner than the 15" and thus the 17" has the symbols on the side. I'm conflicted on whether this is a MacBook or MacBook Pro. The speaker grills are the most obvious Pro feature. However, having the video output port (I can see the Mac's video logo next to the port as well) as well as Ethernet and....

Ok, I've now changed my mind again on what this picture is. I still see the video icon, but I think there's now 2. We don't see the end of the last port, and it's the same size as the neighbor port, so I think the far one is full sized DVI and...ok, since two video ports doesn't make sense, I'm calling this close "port" as the kensington lock slot. Mine isn't as tall as the USB port, but maybe this is just some trick photography. My port arrangement: Full DVI, Gig-E,...wait where's teh Firewire 800 going?

Awh junk! I have no idea anymore. This is real though, looks to good/bad to be photoshopped. I have high hopes that Apple remember this is a pro machine and doesn't dick around with it. FWIW, you can see the metal edge, but getting rid of that plastic is a thing of beauty, it cleans the lines up just that much more. And hopefully those magnetic latches are gone and replaced with the MacBook style magnetic closure.

look at the left side of the speaker why did apple waste space?

I always thought that the whole speaker area was a speaker, until I opened mine up, and noticed that each speaker is about the size of a quarter and are placed near the top of the grills. The only other reasons for the grills to be so large are to accommodate light sensors for the keyboard and screen and for aesthetics. they can make the grills as large as they want, but aesthetics usually trump design for Apple.

the spacing of the keyboard looks like the airr(correct me if wrong). cant imagine the pro wif the air keyboard... not my type of tea. lol

After looking at the other pics from tonight, I feel fairly confident in saying this is the MBP, not the MB, and the port layout is, from left to right:

RJ45 Ethernet (pic is cut off)
9-pin Firewire (bus speed is unknown, probably 800 backward compatible to 400)
USB
USB
Mystery
Audio I/O

Kensington slot and MagSafe connector are to the sides of the shot and thus not visible. Who knows where the video out is. Perhaps the mystery port?

This might explain the mystery port:

Maybe they have changed the design of the MagSafe port slightly so they need the extra space to put the actual port in. After the physical port is in, I may not appear so big (i.e. the physical port makes up a small portion of the case).

Does this make sense? I just woke up and feel as if I am not articulating as well as I could be.

Nevermind. Looking at the blown up pictures of the MB cases (http://www.9to5mac.com/more-leaked-macbook-shells) they also have this giant port and a magsafe port.

So, in looking at the newest leaks of the MacBook, there's some new light on these ports.

On the MacBook, you can see:

MagSafe
Ethernet
USB
USB
MYSTERY
Audio In
Audio Out
Kensington

You can also see the multi-touch sized pad. It's HUGE!

If this is real, maybe the mystery port is a new DVI connection, essentially a Dual-link mini/micro DVI? Would explain the new shape, and make a new display plug on the MB Pro more likely. I find it hard to believe that Apple would take away one of the big "Pro" differentiating features - being able to run a 30" display.

Source or you faked it.

Either that or BOOYAH! ONE PIECE OF ALUMINUM! :D

Real annoying that you don't give anyone a chance, Automatically you call a fake, it is funny how you are so quick to judge. What a shame, there are tons of fake mock-ups on this site. However this one looks legit and you still call fake, too bad. It seems ever more increasingly that this is actually a MB or MBP case.

Maybe I missed it, but did it occur to anyone that the mystery port is MICRO-DVI and not MINI-DVI? The MacBook air has micro-DVI.

The ports are nearly identical to the current MBP. From left->right

MagSafe, Modem, USB, USB, ??? (maybe monitor out, but doubtful), Line In, Earphone

No MacBook or MacBook Pro has ever come with an internal modem. The port is Ethernet.

When I look at that case, I see a re-barb and concrete wall for wifi.

So if that picture is the real deal, and it is solid metal - I hope they did some super clever antenna design to get good tx/rx gains.

Apple - you DID learn your lesson from the FIRST iphone, right???

One thing to think about though, if they took the time to get a nice 'angle' shot why aren't there more shots. I mean if I got the inside scoop on a product, certainly I wouldn't have set it up to take a nice image on a white terry cloth, and ONLY take a limited shot. I would at least try to take it to an elevator and get as many shots as possible :D. But seriously, I can navigate that website (the one mentioned) so I can't see if there are more.

I'm not going to put much into this picture other than, "I'll believe it when I see it for sale"

Perhaps they used a spy camera....that light seems to indicate a warehouse so perhaps they were under watchful eyes...with guns and clubs!

Seriously though, I thought the same thing and thought this picture must have been sneaked on the fly. :)

If that was true then why am I seeing Apple ads on TV? ...and I barely watch TV.

Apple doesn't need to generate buzz with you. You are obviously on this forum a lot and don't need an add to get you excited or interested in a product.
