I went case-less because I never actually found one that was inexpensive and cute. What a drag, but when the iPhone 3G hits, I plan to purchase a foof sleeve. They are just too adorable.

I've been caseless for over a year now. Well, I use an Oakley sunglasses bag - perfect shape, doesn't scratch, and drawstring opening keeps the iPhone secure.

Seen/heard plenty of people doing just that.

However, I made the mistake of using an iPod sock as a case -- stupid. Scratched the glass all to hell.

Sounds good and better than an iPod sock by all accounts! But how do you get an Oakley case without buying a pair of sunglasses :)

Oakley if you are listening there is a new market opening up!

It's a long shot, but you could go into the local Oakley store, say you lost one, and try to buy it; they'll more than likely at least let you buy one. Or Oakley makes an iPhone case.

You can buy them for about £8-£10, or if you're nice to the people in the shop they'll often give you a fabric case for free.

Does anyone know of a place where you can get the InvisibleShield installed besides Macworld?
InvisibleShield has kiosks in some malls, who will install it for you. There's one just outside the Apple store in King of Prussia mall (near Philadelphia).

Well he is my story, i went through about a dozen cases, from Vaja to iskin and i realized that a invisible shield was what i needed because i want to enjoy the looks of the iphone. Now i just have a incase folio to carry it around when i have shorts with no pockets on.
Like another reader said, you might as well enjoy your phone and its looks. why cover it with cheap plastic or even rubber ?
Now im just going to sell my last vaja case and stay caseless. Also my 3G will just have the invisibleshield and a new incase folio

After using several different cases, I always seem to go back to caseless. The only thing I use is the DLO Hipcase.

Ok,

Started naked....thought I'd get the invisable shield....hated the feel of it after the naked sexy Iphone...;-) Also got really grubby at the joins....horrible! Been naked since I took it all off....much better.
One little dink in the corner where I dropped it, but it's barely noticeable. Stays in pocket with no keys or anything else in it!!

On the flip side of that, my ex wife has an iphone and I bought her a hard case and screen protector. She keeps it in her handbag...drops it all the time and the case looks like it's been through the wars....the phone would be mangled by now with the case! ;-)

So....long story short...depends how you will look after it! It looks better naked and feels better without any clingy crap on it. However, if you are going to "throw it about" then get the case!

I bought a case last year when i purchased the iphone. I didn't like the look and sticky feel to it so i took it off. I went with the BSE full body for a month and took that off. For the last 8-9 months I've only had the anti-glare on the front. I'm not a big fan of cases, especially those horrible looking hip cases.

Naked iPhone for 1 year and minor scratches on the back and the chrome.
I do not suggest caseless for the 3G because of the plastic back.

Still Naked!

My wife uses a case on her's, but she throws her's in the pocketbook. I keep mine in my pocket.

I would wait to see how durable the 3G is going to be before making a decision.

I really want to see if that rounded back is going to feel weird in your pocket.

I had the Agent18 Eco case but that thing is the reason for ALL the scratches on my phone.. removed it one day and there was a huge deep scratch to the left of the apple logo. I've gone caseless and it's going to stay that way with the 3G as well. The only case I will purchase is a suede case similar to what came with the early generation iPods.

lol who cares about scratchin ur phone really.. as long as it works i dont reli care.
one of my recent phones, samsung d500 i completely sanded, looked amazing lol. most of my phones get covered in stickers, nokia 3310 back in the day lasted for years with stickers on, protected it and looked oldskool. sanded that ones screen so it was all blurry lol, but then got bored and finely sanded it back to normal. think i spray painted one as well. my k850i i have the the mo is pretty standard tho, maybe i will keep the 3g nice n scratch free, or maybe i'll realise i dont even need material possessions and i dont actually care if it gets scratched...

Mine has a hairline crack in the screen. I just noticed this recently. Looks more like a fine scratch, but it's definitely a crack. My bad as it's been naked and yes it has been dropped (but never on pavement).

I prefer the naked iPhone, but I will likely put some sort of casing on my 3G.
