It was last night and I closed them out but if I remember it was:
Words with friends
photos
camera
safari (with 9 tabs open)
around me
maps
facebook
instagram
snapchat
yelp
notes
fandango
music
shazam

All apps responded as soon as I opened them and were ready to use, so were all 14 tabs in Safari. So Again, I don't see a problem with 1GB of RAM
Yea, almost everyone has problem with reloading tabs and apps but magically, you dont.

If Apple axes the 32GB model then I'm done. Yes the iPhone works great but 16GB won't work for me and 64GB is a bit too big for my needs so the 32GB is perfect. As much Iike Apple, I can learn to live without an iPhone.

If you want to complain, here's where you NEED to post those

www.apple.com/feedback/

Comments, suggestions, and complaints get directed to the appropriate team at Apple so they can get OUR feedback. Posting complaints and suggestions here doesn't get routed to Apple directly and they need to know in order for them to meet customer needs and wants.

Yeah, Apple should have offered 2GB of RAM by now on smartphones and 2GB to maybe 4 GB of RAM on iPads. There are some higher end apps currently on the market that could benefit from more RAM not to mention the possibility of future apps that are more powerful.

32GB is one of the best selling models, so I wouldn't worry about that model getting the axe.

Why would you care if the 64 GB is the same price? You should be thanking Apple.

When I open my Phonedog tab, its still on the article I was reading. When I open my MacRumors tab, its still in the thread I was reading. When I open my ESPN tab, its still on the story I was reading. When I open WWF, its still on the game I was playing. When I open the Yelp, its still showing the restaurant I was looking at. When I open Fandango, its still on the movie theater I was looking at. So whats the problem?

Go and record a video clip, take a few photos every 5 minutes, view them in the photo app... then go back to Safari and Fandango and see if they are still running?

If you say they are, then you are outright lying.

The 1GB of RAM is not just for apps. It is also shared as graphics memory for things that are being displayed on the screen... so recording movies, taking photos, etc... take a heavy toll on memory. So do games.

Since you are hardly using the extra functionalities of your phone (camera, GPS/maps, etc...), you probably don't see this as a drawback, but for those of us who do, it is a regular annoyance.

And before you pull the "it is not a computer" argument, please do remember that this "phone" costs more than some computers.

Ok, what am I looking for exactly? I opened 7 tabs in Safari and had 6 apps running. Took photos of things around my house and videos of my dog, went into each app and it was right where I left it. Scrolled immediately too, unlike my S4 which used to stutter a good 2 seconds before I could scroll. Not seeing any issues and people who need dozens of app and tabs open really need a laptop or go buy a phone with more RAM and leave the iPhone 6 for us. Bye :)

Just because you aren't experiencing any issues doesn't mean others aren't.

I'm guessing you opened tabs with different pages and them not all being just blank tabs? Bye :)

Terrible analogy. Engines have plenty of variables. Turboed, supercharged, etc. Its common sense that higher res takes up more ram. There is no way around this. OR we'd still have anemic ram on PC's. Stop drinking the Apple Kool-aid...
Yeah I swear people just type anything nowadays.

----------

I just don't get it why Apple skimps on RAM while everything else is high quality including packaging and ear buds($30 , which is like the price of 2GB RAM) ?

That is true, but this only mean people will continue to buy and if people buy then Apple will not change its strategy. Maybe we can do some bad PR like antenna gate so everyone pays attention :p

Honestly I like the phone but it seems sluggish especially after iOS8 (I got iphone5), it seems like it exactly needs RAM not more processing power.
Ios 8 is still in beta so just wait and see how it plays out.

If you didn't bother to read at least some of the previous posts addressing every single one of your points here, then I suppose that explains why you were never inclined to search iOS + memory issues on your favorite search engine explaining at the very least, your first comment.

So I suppose you won't be buying one then? Since it's that debilitating...

LOL

Google "iPhone users that overreact" and you will find things. Google "iPhone users that need to get a life" and you will find things.

The point? Just because you can Google something and find a result does NOT mean something is "widespread". It also proves how little you actually understand of the "issue" (since we are just making Straw Man arguments, figured I'd throw one in too).

For the last year we've had to sit around and listen to the .01% of users that can't live with Safari tabs reloading, or an occassional crash from "power using" (LOL... again) tell us how "if Apple doesn't fix this, I'm leaving".

Fantastic. LEAVE.

But you won't. Instead, as I already mentioned, it'll just be another year of "problems" tied to an idle threat of "if the 6S doesn't have XYZ, I swear, no really... I SWEAR, I'm leaving this time... Scout's honor".

It makes you all look even more ridiculous. If you are that unsatisfied that you really believe the problem is widespread (it isn't, but if you BELIEVE it is), why not move on to something else?

I have my theories :p

This! Love it! I really hope these people don't buy an iPhone 6, less people in my way on launch day! Go buy an Android phone and open up 1675 tabs and 495 apps at once! Bye!

I dont understand all the concern. RAM is currently not an issue on the iPhone 5S as iOS offers a vast expanse of software enhancements. Maybe if this were an Android device, it would matter, but it's not.

not an issue? don't you ever switch from one app to another and back again and the app reloads? thats due to ram. If you typed something its gone.

So don't switch between apps while typing something in a forum....

Yes- whilst that may happen on some older devices, such as the iPhone 4, I have never experienced that issue on my iPhone 5, therefore, on Apple's current hardware it is not an issue.

my 5s does it

or twitter, or youtube, or or or ;)

so i'll just keep doing what I'm doing and ignore the face time call or the iMessage or the twitter DM or or or or ;)

maybe I need to learn how to use my iPhone, do you give lessons?

or maybe we can just up the frikin ram ;)

Exactly. The iPhone is the most expensive phone out there, yet it has the specs of a lower midrange from any of its competitors. And I don't care about any of that "it's still smoother than anything else"-BS. Because even if that was true, with proper hardware it would be even better.

So, Apple, please stop screwing your customers in the eyeball and give us some proper hardware to match those obscene prices, will ya?
