Gutted. I really enjoy this show. It has potential and the storyline is fairly interesting. The most recent episode was pretty damn good, and there is a lot of characters to keep it interesting.

I was needing something to replace Lost.. FlashForward had the same kind of sci-fi coolness about it.

NBC always axes good TV shows. Remember Freaks and Geeks?

I also read that they canceled Scrubs, too.

I actually agree with that... I loved that show. And what I thought was the series finale was done so well! Then I found out they decided to keep it going, which was just... boring. Stopped watching after a few episodes.

Scrubs should have been canceled two years ago. I loved that show, and they just beat it to death at the end. They should have just let it die with dignity.

So with Flash Forward cancelled, Lost ending, and V renewed, will V get Lost's time slot?
I personally hope so, but Fox has two new shows airing during the 9 time slot, so I don't know.

I did not find ABC's fall listing until today. V will get the 9 time slot but it will not return until November, around the time it first aired last year.

While renewing the show was risky in the first place, airing it mid season could prove fatal in my opinion. I have a feeling it was be cut over the December holidays. I just hope they film all 13 episodes and not condense them into 8 like past shows have done.

Should be synopsis of Heroes.

Srcubs Season 8 wasn't that bad.
Yeah, I meant after 8, that was a mistake. On the beginning of 9, I turned it off after JD was basically dry-humping Elliots funbags (which was like.. 5 minutes in).

When you sign on a TV series with a plot that requires a certain amount of episodes for the story to play out you should air every ****ing episode that's kind of like what playing 22 hours of 24 then canceling would be for Fox. Or reading a book for example, who wants to read a story, get caught up in it and find out the last two chapters are blank pages?

Come to think of it the last TV show actually to have a complete series based on a novel style story line was Babylon 5. I am getting so ****ing sick of the short attention span ADD ****ing TV execs running things.

I mean hell even if an ending is horrible at least it has an ending

Not that I ever watched this show, but what are these studios thinking?

They hook an audience, expect the show to be a blockbuster and give it no time to build an audience. Then they cancel it.

I've started watching a few shows, only to have them get cancelled after one or two seasons. I've personally had it with this BS.

Now that Lost is going off air, there's really very few shows out there worth watching.

Fringe has really been pretty good this year, but they have reached one of their major plotlines. I'm not sure they can continue to be creative for all that much longer.

Heroes was the best show that never was.

Terminator: Sara Connor Chronicles was finally starting to take off and they killed it.

V sucked the first time around, I could never get into it. I watched the first few episodes of the reincarnate and thought it sucked just as much as the first one.

Invasion just dissapeared.

There's probably about 5 or 6 other shows that were one season wonders.

Long gone are the days of establishing a show and growing an audience. It's pretty sad when the networks are shooting for instant gratification.

i agree. with 24 ending, there's one network tv show i'm watching next year. i hate that they start a story and they cancel the show before it gets any kind of footing, and as the networks keep doing so, the viewers get sick of it and the ratings keep going down. i think the best way to remedy this is to have shorter series (say that a show will only be on for 1 season and be gone with an ending), but then again, if ratings are high, network execs will want to make sure it stays on the air until the ratings flatline and cancel it abruptly when nobody cares because the fans are gone.

I knew they were going to cancel Heroes eventually, but I wish they’d at least let the show come to a conclusion. They even allowed Ugly Betty that (I never understood how that show started getting moved around and going in hiatus, when it was a major Emmy winner a few years ago).

I used to be a big fan of Heroes and Scrubs (which they're also canceling). Heroes got confusing around Season 3, as it seemed almost every other person had powers now. And then theres Sylar who was dead, but then he really wasnt, but then he kinda was, and then they killed him, but then he came back but wasnt really the Season 1 Sylar and ohuwdibfiiwfbqefduqwyed80 2qr9lu1ipr9 t806doywbics.

You get the point.

heroes needed to be canned. it was great the first season, and okay the second, but it got stupid and i quit watching after the season 3 ending which proved that there were no changes in the characters over all of this time, and it didn't sound like things got much better last season.

Personally, I feel like Flash Forward's most fatal move was writing the storyline in such a way that so many questions would be answered right away. The fact that they gave so much up in the first season left a lot of viewers, such as myself, wondering how they could possibly continue the series beyond only one season. It seemed like the story ended after the day that they all flashed to in the black out came, either proving or disproving their visions.

gotta love it. another flash forward occurred...and a whole new set of loose ends left untied. never to find out what happens. wonderful.

There's a fair number of questions still unanswered, like what the formula Lloyd saw means, who Hellinger worked for, etc.

I actually prefer that they at least answer some of the questions early...unlike another show that I can name. ;)

Yeah, frustrating, isn't it? Of course, since the show was cancelled only two weeks ago, I'm sure ABC pulled the rug out from under the producers before they had a chance to film an ending.

As a season finale, I thought it was very well done. Only real flaw: when Nicole was drowning in the lake, we clearly saw her outside of the car, floating downward. Yet Ed says he rescued her by pulling her out of the car. Oops. Little continuity error there, eh?

Just saw the finale on hulu.

Sad that they pulled it. I had hoped they would shift it to syfy. Seeing what garbage is usually on tv this was a very good show with some good actors.

There is hope that eventually they pick it up again for lack of better shows.

The ABC execs seem to be a bunch of losers.

I really hated the show. I felt invested enough to finish the first season, so I thought I should have and wow was teh finale an entire contradiction to their visions. Sure some of them were fate and stuff but that was a cheat with the black fbi agent saying the main dude is dead.

Gah! I watched the entire season and I forgot their names

Olivia will always be Penny!

This was explained as flashforwards were possible futures, becuase each flashforward at any given time wasn't the same.

Olivia will always be Penny!

Shes the only reason I started watching haha :p

I was planning on watching V also because of Juliet also but after flashforward fell apart i decided not to.

I almost never watch series from the very beggining for this reason. I wait for an official 3rd and 4th season to start. This is exactly what I did with Lost and Greys anatomy....and they ended up being great shows!

criminal they ended it. it faltered a bit in the middle, but the beginning and the end were great. especially the last episode. i would probably say it was the best episode in the season. the second to last episode made it seem like none of their flash forwards would be true, but in the end, everyone went back to where they were supposed to be. its definitely a unique push/pull relationship with fate.

two things upset me:
1. we won't get to see what happens. obviously
2. they picked such an ugly actress to play Charlie in the future.. jesus..

...This is exactly what I did with Lost and Greys anatomy....
Speaking of Lost...

I know I'm taking my own thread OT, but I found a couple of pretty funny posts regarding Lost in another forum. Ideally, I'd put these in the Lost thread, but the folks over there really don't seem to cotton to criticism of the show. So rather than rain on their parade....

This guy had an amusing summation of "Across the Sea". In part:

Mother takes Jacob to the magic light water cave that no one can find despite it glowing intensely at night. She tells him he's taking over as island protector. She pours a glass of wine, says some magic chant mumbo jumbo, and tells Jacob to drink. Abracadabra! Jacob is the island protector!

MIB wakes up and he's somehow out of the hole now. The hole is somehow covered up. The village is somehow burned. The villagers are somehow dead. I am somehow still watching this crap.
And this guy was even more cynical, distilling the entire series into a not very flattering formula.

Personally I don't think the show was that bad, but boy do I see his point. :D
