oy.. please god, let them release side by side regular-looking/sized airpods...
I don't think these will replace them. Will be Pro models I'm sure. Wouldn't trade in my PBP's, that's for sure.

$249 seems quite Apple.
If not that, then definitely $299.
One of the two.
If these have ANC, probably $299 unless they add it to the Powerbeats or drop the price on those. Maybe, MAYBE $279.

Never seizes to amaze me that after all these advanced smartphones that we have, the leaked photos are still horribly blurry... looks like they used a flip phone from 15 years ago to take that last photo. ;)

I always think the same thing. Even with cell phone footage on the news. As if people with flip phones are the only ones who happen to stumble onto something

Bro... It’s just a name / marketing term Lol. Apple is just competing with themselves. Pro to Apple and their products doesn’t equate to what makes other company’s products “Pro”. Let them be.
Except with the iMac Pro, Mac Pro, and about the upper third of the MacBook Pro line, which are kinda ridiculous products for normal consumers and pretty much only make sense for creative professionals...?

The term is used inconsistently even within Apple's own product stack. That's the thing that bugs me.

If these have soft ear tips and ANC for under $250, I will order them right away.

Isn't it usually best to have product announcements and releases after a quarterly call?
I honestly don’t think it matters

People who tolerate and pay for that crap are what's wrong with society and with the economy.

Hoping Apple releases these soon so I can return my Powerbeats Pro (before it’s too late) which I found to be a bit underwhelming.

underwhelming for exercise or sound quality? I need new earphones so I’m on the fence right now

Active noise canceling isn't worth doing unless it's done REALLY well.

The only earbuds worth buying with active noise canceling are the Bose QC30s. There's a bunch of brands that offer their own versions but even my Jabra 65e headset is barely any different with ANC on or off. I like apple but I have zero faith they can compete with Bose who's been doing this for years now.

Where did you hear this rumor? It's doubtful to me they would add ANC and 'pro' to the name and then price them the same as the ones we have now.

The rumor I heard is that they are going to be in the $280 range. This seems much more likely to me and aligns with Apple usually being more expensive than the competition.
It's in the OP.

I see what you mean. At 1 point PRO actually meant PROFESSIONAL. And now that’s only the case for certain products. Doesn’t bug me at all, but I get where you’re coming from.

I don't think they want to compete with Bose. Having ANC, like the Sony's wf-1000, Apple has the convenience of every device tied to AppleID. I really like that with my watch

Then need to work on the price of the Noise Cancelling AirPods. The rumored $230+ is too high.

Amazon is coming in at $129 with their earbuds with Bose Noise Cancelling at the end of the month.

Apple’s Pro designator indicates the model with the highest-end features as far as I can tell. I haven’t noticed any inconsistencies but maybe I’m just not that observant.

The price of the original AirPods didn’t seem to be an impediment to its adoption. If anything, the much vilified price tag turned out to actually be pretty reasonable relative to the value it offered.

When will people realise that when it comes to Apple products, direct price comparisons with other third party alternatives often ends up being irrelevant or missing the point, since they tend to not take into consideration the benefits of platform integration?

Cook is now more interested in giving interviews and joining boards than introducing new products.

"Apple typically unveils redesigned products during its keynotes, but an October event is looking unlikely this year, so it could announce the new AirPods in a press release like the redesigned Beats Solo Pro. Or, if the new AirPods are a 2020 product, they could be unveiled at Apple's usual March event."

Probably next year.

And in the competition of "How to make AirPods look even worse" the winner is ...

Hate the look, love W1.
