Then need to work on the price of the Noise Cancelling AirPods. The rumored $230+ is too high.

Amazon is coming in at $129 with their earbuds with Bose Noise Cancelling at the end of the month.
I don’t think Apple much cares what Amazon prices their products at.

In any case, isn’t $230 just $31 more than the current AirPods?

Case makers don't produce accessories just based on speculation. It's more expensive than you think it is. You have to really pay up to get the exact specs/measurements for the product molds, and you're not likely to do so unless you're sure they're legit.

It's possible that this case is for these headphones that just so happen to look just like airpod pros

ESR's not going to waste their money producing cases for Anker earbuds.

These don't look right. Based on the purported photos and the icon, the "stems" would appear to either stick out and slant downward, or run diagonally forward. Those won't fit my ears the way the current (first gen) AirPods do, which fit perfectly right now. I'm willing to wait to see these in person, but I'm already balking at the rubber tips nonsense, and this has me leaning further toward getting second-gen AirPods instead.

That case would looks quite nice if not for the naff logo. Also, not sure why you need a case for a case.

Speaking of which - making the Charing case bigger to fit in the larger heads will presumably have the happy bonus of increasing the battery capacity.

Finally! Hopefully AirPods Pro launches earlier rather than later. ANC on AirPods has been one of my most wanted features.

Just wondering... Will they actually have ANC? Or is it just the rubber tips that provide passive noise cancellation? I'm guessing the latter?

Still that's better than nothing and I'll be getting a pair as the batteries are fading fast on my OG pair.

Never buy these from the Apple's site. Airpods go for $140 or less on Amazon and other sites, and retailers like Best Buy
$140? You must be talking about the version without the wireless charging case. I think the AirPod Pro model would come standard with the wireless charging case, but I might very well be wrong.

Hard to say, this article says active noise cancellation. I don’t think there would be a price increase if they were just changing the tip design so that points to ANC.

underwhelming for exercise or sound quality? I need new earphones so I’m on the fence right now

The sound quality is not what I expected. I prefer AirPods but they fall out of my ears when working out so on the plus side, the Powerbeats pro do an effective job of staying in my ears even under vigorous exercise but there is just too much treble imo. YMMV.

I imagine they should do given how the leaked cases look

Excited about trying these!! I use Bose Sleep Buds with noise masking and they work great for my wife's snoring. But Bose had trouble with consistency and discontinued them. I have a pair now that work great but they may not last too long. Hoping the new AirPods can work as well!!

It's tough to say. Apple launched the AirPods with a surprisingly low price. Since then, the competition has barely been able to match their price and quality.

Looking at the direct competition: Sony's ANC earbuds are $230. Bose's non-ANC earbuds are $200, but the ANC ones will surely be closer to $300. Amazon's new earbuds, with "Bose noise-reduction" will be only $130.

The rumor is they will cost $160-$200, depending on wireless charging. That would be in-line with Apple's aggressive pricing for the AirPods. I think Apple could get away with $250.

$250-300 is too steep. First, psychologically I'm thinking in terms of grands at that point - that's a quarter to a third of a grand. Second, at those prices people will expect ANC to be on-par with the Beats Solo Pro, which it can't possibly be.

It's official: $249.

Curious: will you be ordering?

Cheers!
