That image is a good optical illusion trivia or some sort, since I thought it was the front view, but really it is the back view..

I have a 3G, I'm waiting for a case to make it look like a 4G. LOL:D

Switcheasy Reptile will suit the bill. I smell a conspiracy!

I live in Belgium. Mobistar and Proximus here both sell the iPhone, unlocked and at full price (~600 EUR). I can't speak for Proximus, but Mobistar took till October 08 to properly bring the 3G to market, because they restricted supply to keep it 'interesting', plus they spent time organising idiotic news stunts like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/loneblackrider/sets/72157606098594351/ (the stunt happened in July, but the phone wasn't made available for most customers until Oct).

Let's just say that unlike Apple, they're not customer-centric.

Damn, that was strange. But what about 3GS, did it also came in oct :p?

Cases are so ugly and pointless. They make the phone larger and make it look generic. I can see CERTAIN circumstances when they could be used... but 80% are unneeded. People just buy into it, waste money.. and make their nice phone look like crap.

Cases are for losers :p. After I stopped using one with my 3G S I enjoyed the phone much more, so I definitely won't be going back this time around.

Please, not that design... it was too clunky :( I'm complaining this much because I'm about to buy a new iphone and thought the latest to be worth saving for....

How could you possibly think it's not? That's ridiculous.

Agreed

How can they make a case without having a new iPhone:confused:

Unless this is some lame fly-by-night company, I can't imagine they would do this without at least a dummy phone from apple. The last paragraph sounds ridiculous and is outright speculation:

"While these cases don't provide any additional confirmation beyond the original leaks, it does show that some companies are confident enough about the 4th generation iPhone design to begin producing cases for the product"

Who would produce a case based on photos from gizmodo's leak? If they actually did so, I don't recommend buying one.

Yep. People may want to get their hands on one before deciding it's clunky. That's more of a tactile experience. It certainly doesn't look as ergonomically pleasing to the hand, but how it actually feels may be much different. Looking at photos by itself it looks larger and awkward to the hand, but when posed next to a 3GS, it looks smaller and therefore maybe not so "clunky".

Ring Phone

I hope Steve builds a RING Phone like the one on "Chuck" THAT would drive the GAWKER - VIET CONG axis into the special hell they deserve.

I thought the same thing when I got my first iPod touch. When I found myself occasionally dropping the thing, I caved in and bought a silicone case. It really aided in handling.

I agree that cases are ugly, but they certainly are not pointless.

Well, there's no up front cost for iPhones. Just the cost of the phone service.

I thought iPhones were free in many countries, including the UK?!
I'm in Japan. Here you pay for the phone over the 2-year contract term. If I continue using the same phone after that the monthly payment obviously drops by the amount of the instalment. Financially it's better to keep the same phone until it breaks.
