Wow, this programme totally sounds like something I would avoid like the plague.

mmmh, ok

What a tool.

I find this whole thing vomit worthy. Why Tim and Eddy ever thought this is a good idea baffles me.

Just to add to the chorus of curmudgeons, I will also be avoiding this. It is the most troubling thing they have done since buying Beats.

As much as I like Jessica Alba, this show is one big dumpster fire,

How about getting mentors who have actually successfully launched an app instead of celebrities.

A dumpster fire can at least provide warmth.

Hm, this sounds terrible. Jessica Alba is lovely, but what the heck does she know about app development?

I don't think her approach to business is transferable... Am I supposed to use my incredible good-looks, charisma and talents as an actor to become a successful Hollywood star and then convert my mass appeal into building brand recognition? There are going to be some problems with that, and not only because I have no acting talent.

I wish we could go back to when I thought this was about a Planet of the Apes show. Now, Ms. Alba would be a wonderful addition to that project.

While this is an easy target and incredibly joke-worthy (still laughing at some of the excellent posts here), I'm curious to see what Apple is trying to achieve here. I'll save my critique until I see what they do with this. Until then...

I started The Honest Company because I saw an opportunity in the market for a brand that spoke to conscious consumers.

Haha! "conscious consumers." Sales and marketing mode always engaged. Increases the chances that people reading that are going to want to be interested in her company and now possibly this show, because it's not like the average person see's themselves in a negative fashion.

20 years from now, she'll probably either be running for president, or some other form of political office.

Update: Alba will not be joining Apple's new television series. Sources say the mixup stems from a miscommunication wherein the show was erroneously referred to as 'Planet of Dat Ass'.

Despite the issues in the company, to her credit, the Honest company does appear to be worth a good bit of money. She has been pretty successful there ($$$). The following piece is fluffy of course, but does provide a little background if anyone is interested. I was trying to figure out just what 'founder' meant. http://www.vanityfair.com/style/2015/11/jessica-alba-honest-company-business-empire

However... I still can't understand how this background makes her qualified to mentor app developers. I must not understand who this show is for. I would much rather have the mentors be serial successful app developers than celebrity business people.

Even clueless people can code with Swift

... or Apes. Planet of the ... Apps?

See? Slick use of words by Apple. Introduce a relationship between the word "Apes" and a show about developing apps by using the title of something well known which traditionally used the former, but with which they instead use the latter.

Because of that, I cringe a little inside when I see people post about how they're looking forward to this show.

I also realize that it's more likely that such a relationship with their choice of words is most likely pure coincidence. In which case ... hold on, let me take a swig of water ....

Bwahahahahaaaa!

Great ... water everywhere now.

In fairness, I think a lot of people who had been using Honest products for years didn't know it was her company. They just liked the products. I sure didn't know, and my wife used them all the time. but then it made sense why she rarely acts anymore, since she has a billion dollars.

Unless she's mentoring in the nude, this show looks like a crapfest. How are Will.i.am, Paltrow, and her going to mentor app devs?
