640x480 is not a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.

I guess that answers my question though. When I watch iPhone recorded videos on my computer or on YouTube that others have recorded, they don't look widescreen. They are filmed in 640x480

It's a VGA camera recorder. It scales in this manner.

why the need to be a smart a$$ then? I answered your question saying the iPhone shoots videos suitable for its screen which is 320x480 and it officially supports videos up to 640x480
all these are kinda widescreen, not 16:9 of course.

Are those your neighbors with lambogini's and bentley's.

Well, technically its the New Jersey shore and their beachfront property and im like 3 streets away from the beach and they're on like 20th street and im not even close to that so nope :D

not good to do

Watching video quality of an iphone on youtube or other sight is not a smart thing to do. the only way to know that the vid quality is good is by watching the vid on the phone itself. youtube and other video uploading sites don't have that great of quality so you really can't see how good the video really is:apple:

Took some video of some insane lightning and thunder at my place in Olive Branch. This is right before a tornado touched down. For some reason though, the lightning wouldn't show up while I filmed it. Instead of lightning, you only see horizontal bands of white.

But the sound of the thunder was amazing. The second video is when the lightning sounds like it hit right next to my house.

Quality wise: the first video was uploaded from the iPhone, the second was uploaded from my pc directly to YouTube.
