I uploaded to youtube over wifi and 3G but not PC.

same quality.

either method activated the "compressing video" function.

will try the PC method later

Here is the final four minutes of the fireworks show in Wilmington, N.C. It's at night (of course), but I think the quality turned out really well. I imported through iPhoto into iMovie which is what gave me the HQ option. I only did that to add the text.

Watch your volume once it hits the finale stage...haha

Enjoy and for those of you in the States, I hope you had a great Fourth as well!

I found it mildly amusing that I was video recording a real live Snow Leopard at our local zoo today with my iPhone 3G S. Yeah this old dog has finally broken down and gone You Tube. :p

Cool video...haha...love how much it's pacing. I guess I'd do the same thing if I was stuck in a cage all the time!

Here is my video of the fireworks on the 4th in my area. straight from phone to PC then to u tube.

Question for you all when you guys recorded the firework shows did you tap to focus or let the cam do its thing then hit record? cause i think mine looks different, Let me know.
Sincerely,

Sincerely,

I didn't tap on mine first, perhaps I should do that so it knows to focus in on a specific area? What did you do on yours b/c it looks pretty sharp in a lot of areas.

The Killers @ The Royal Albert Hall recorded last night. Struggles with the Bass a bit, but no worse than other digital cameras that record video! Great gig btw!

I believe there was a concert for Montserrat (sp) at Royal Albert Hall about 10-12 years ago featuring Mark Knopfler, Sting, Clapton, and company that I really like. It looks familiar anyhow to the videos that are up on YouTube of that concert.

Thanks. All i did was tap on a area around the center of the screen. it gave a smaller blue box and then i hit record. its funny hoe some videos of the fireworks look better than others. Maybe different firework brands? haha

here is a comparison i did of a 3GS and a 3G. All though they might seem about the same quality trust me they are not in a fast moving enviroment the 3G does not stand a chance, i took video of a canucks game celebration and it was all blurry and crap

Fireworks Show from Great American Ballpark

I filmed these after a Reds game at Great American Ballpark on July 3rd. about 23 minutes of Fireworks with music. It used about 8-9% of my battery which I don't think was too bad. The end of the finale was so loud the sound stopped recording.

I find the video quality good especially for a phone. I used a Flip for awhile - the early version - and it's about the same. Better video in better light. Better video in lower contrast situations, etc. However, would like to see expanded editing on the iPhone itself.

How come the videos don't film in widescreen? Even in landscape they show up in more of a 4:3 aspect ratio when viewed on the computer.

so is 640:480:rolleyes::rolleyes:

640x480 is not a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.

I guess that answers my question though. When I watch iPhone recorded videos on my computer or on YouTube that others have recorded, they don't look widescreen. They are filmed in 640x480
