The video recorder is a tad buggy (acting like it knows the orientation but not recording the video as such), but its a start.

no pause button, no editing of clips .. i guess there is trim, which is nice. I can "copy" a video, but no idea where or how to paste it (would be nice if you could paste it into another clip and join the two)

The camera lets you do nice macro shots:

color saturation is pretty good in this macro:

the encoding quality is not as high as the original file quality, but still good. understandable, but i love it that i can upload via EDGE/3G!

If you look at the originals in low light, you get a nice almost film-like grain. The sensor seems to be of much higher quality. I have not been able to get any annoying blue noise or streaking in the lowest of light. At the edge of the sensors sensitivity, you still get a nice grain.

Here is a video

and now trimmed.Awesome!!!!!!!!!
I did find when you trim it doesnt rename the file. Kind of sucks when you try to import your video.

Were you able to upload right to photobucket from the iPhone? I like photobucket more than youtube personally.

Also, to post it on the forum, did you do all that from the iPhone also? I guess I can just wait 2 hours when Ill have it in my hands! I cant wait for this damn FedEx guy to show up!

I had some 600 watt quartz lights setup for some video testing, and I happened to take out my (3G) iphone and take a picture. The output might as well have been a DSLR, because it was amazing.

I suspect with the right lighting, this iphone video camera is going to be quite interesting.

I haven't test, but I think the quality of the video is a lot better in the actual file and uploading through the computer rather than the iphone.

When I uploaded a video via 3g (not wifi) it said it compressed the video.

Doesn't cycorder record by taking quick snap shot pictures and then animating them? The video recorder on the 3GS is in real time and much much smoother and better looking.

Yes, but it can take up to 30 frames/second in good lighting conditions. Only thing I'm uncertain about is how much more / less battery it drains because twenty minutes of cycorder takes a good 15% away.

It's probably so you can paste it into an email.

Sorry if it's been asked here or elsewhere but what's the uploading speed on 3G like? How long would a 30 second video take to upload for example?

Also, is the uploaded video viewable on the iPhone right away or is it like the usual YouTube flv to mp4 waiting period? Kinda funny, if so.

Takes about 3 Minutes to upload a 1 Minute Clip, about 10-20secs compressing.

Have to wait for YT to do its thang.

What is the file size for a 30 second or 1 minute clip? That may help make my decision between 16GB or 32GB.
