I need to connect a classic Apple Studio Display (clear acryl-plastic case) to a new MacBook 13 (USB-C port.)

I have done research on it but I had run up against a block, lack of facts. I guess I could get Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter relying in good faith upon the quality of Apple's older adapters; I already have a DVI to ADC adapter, reason being the Apple Studio Display was attached to a 2006 Mac mini.

Now, given the plethora of things that can go wrong when relying on two additional adapters to get the picture from the laptop to the display, I would love to know if there is a proved way to get this done. Or at least, the required leap of faith might be worth the spending.

So far it works fine. Just bought the USB-C multiport adapter this week.

I use the computer with the screen lid closed while using the external screen. When the Power is unplugged from the computer the external screen doesn't come on and I have tried to wake it with external keyboard and mouse, as soon I plug in the power to the computer the external screen wakes up again. don't know why it does that.
