I don't really listen to many mainstream artists so this might save me ££ in the long run, but I've a feeling I'll continue to buy MP3 albums from play.com and amazon.co.uk then as they're often cheaper (and play.com is 320Kbps I think).
Just go to Amazon.com!
Everything is still just $0.99 or $0.89...
Songs from the 70s and 80s are now selling for $1.29 on iTunes. It's ridiculous considering Amazon has the same songs, DRM free, for cheaper. Everyone should just switch to Amazon and send the record companies a message.
for me it shows up as £9.99, but only after i'd accepted the new terms and conditions for itunes, which is prompted me to do when i upgraded more of my music to itunes plus. it said at the top of the box with the terms in that they've been updated to include the itunes pass feature
The sound of the MP3s on Amazon is crap...

Guess what. Now when the labels go back to Amazon when their agreement is up, Amazon's prices are also going up.
Note - The whole idea for the record companies was to get people to switch to Amazon. The record companies were (are) not too happy with how strong Apple is.
Heads up mac store is down. "we'll be back soon. "

I agree it is ridiculous, but all this means is Apple doesn't get my cash. I have other resources, physical CDs if I like the album enough and Amazon.com.

I've been looking and looking but can I can't find any 59p songs. I've seen only a handful at the top price whilst most appear to have remained at 79p.
Well sure, compared to lossless.Otherwise, it's quite fine. Amazon is still the better deal on DRM free quality music and ALL of the Amazon library is DRM free, thank you. The iTunes store does not offer plus status to all the music in its library yet, does it? Finally, from what I've seen, the bundled album prices come in mostly lower at Amazon than what the iTunes store offers.
Purists are never satisfied. For now, my music money goes to Amazon.
