I use Premiere Pro, and some of the things he misses from FCP are there. Right click a gap, and it pulls up "ripple delete" to pull everything over. Importing P2 footage directly into any bin is simple, and all clips are reassembled, if you import the first MXF video file inside the correct folder, and nothing else... All audio and clips come perfectly as one clip. No need for Bridge there.

Has anyone actually used Final Cut Pro X - you know, actually learned how it works and run with it a little?

Leaving aside the discussed to death missing features, it's just such a beautiful way to manipulate video compared to Final Cut 7 and Premiere. And I wouldn't claim to be that familiar with it yet.

Maybe the doomsayers are right and this will be nothing more than an iMovie Pro, even after a few rounds of updates. I hope not - Apple has hit a serious home run with the usability and interface of this software.

I've had it crash a few times, but surprisingly, I didn't lose anything.

I think being able to slash 50% off your original selling price really says something about just how much you (over)value your product.

No, it says how much you're commited to competing for customers.

When a company is unconcerned about the price of it's products,
It can rest assured that it's customers will pay attention to companies that
want their business by giving them better value.

Well, that was an informative eye opener.
I wonder how many "Adobe sucks" folks will bother to read it?

Thanks for the link. Haven't been over to Creativecow in awhile.
Need to start hanging out there more before I get my new kit.
