I'm a HUGE fan of Audition/Cool Edit...I, too, have been using it for well over a decade, and it's the last reason for a partition on our MacPro in the studio. VERY happy to play with the Beta Release. In fact, I didn't get much sleep last night:) Thanks Adobe...and Thank you Durin for participating! Much appreciated.

No problem. I'm very excited to finally get this into the open.

I mentioned this on the Adobe forum as well...one of my most used keyboard shortcuts is Ctrl-M (on PC) to "Insert in to MultiTrack" from the Edit screen. I searched shortcuts and couldn't find it anywhere (even to address my own shortcut). I know everyone here at the radio station is also a Ctrl-M fan:) Any chance to get this added?

The default shortcut for this is Shift+CMD+I. You can change this to whatever you'd like by clicking Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. Look under the group Edit > Insert into Session.

As far as transition from Beta to public release...will there be, as you've done with some of the creative suite upgrades...the possibility for those of us that have purchased the Windows version...to upgrade or cross-grade to the Mac version? Essentially eliminating our PC license for the Mac License?

I don't know the answer to this. If the folks responsible for planning the sales and upgrade support have worked this plan out already, it hasn't made it down the pipe to me yet. Since this is a new release, my guess is that you'll be able to upgrade from previous versions of Audition, no matter if they were Windows-based licenses.

I'm actually (and have been for 15 years), an employee of Clear Channel. We use Audition solely in our market for editing...and along with my air-shift and production duties, I also edit a morning show daily for syndication. I had my engineer post a company wide IT email this morning in hopes of getting other producers on board with the Beta to share stories between markets...it's been a long time coming!!! There are a LOT of us, albeit maybe quietly...excited for this release.

Glad it's getting some eyes over at Clear Channel. I know you guys use Audition on Windows a lot, so if we can help spread a little gospel to the Mac users there, that's great.

Well I downloaded the beta and while I only had a few minutes to play with it, It seems like just the software I've been looking for.

One thing I want to be able to do easily is split one long file into individual files (i.e. an LP into individual tracks) and I see the command for it in the cue list but I couldn't get it to not be grayed out.

Will Adobe ever consider making a simple "elements" version? I really only need the wave editor part, not so much the multitrack DAW part.

Really interested with this. I was an Audition user for awhile until I switched to Mac, and kinda just faded from it due to being tired of dualbooting. I wasn't happy with with Logic for the functions that Audition handily covers, so this is good.

Well now's your big chance to try it out for free -- surf on over and get yourself the beta.

Have you looked at Soundbooth CS5? I believe this is the "lite" version, for people who don't need the power of Audition. I use Production Premium and it is part of the package, but I don't use it much, unless I really have to. I really prefer Audition. I may not need all of the power of Audition, but its great to have. I'm stoked seeing this coming out for Mac!

auto-tune plug-in

Can anyone explain where i can get a free auto-tune plug-in for adobe audition 3 and how i can install it? I've been trying but can't seem to get anything to work...thanks!
