Block all the ads you want. I get paid to make flash apps. And to answer your question, I'll get paid more now that I can develop for the iPhone OS.

Chances are, you'll play one of my flash games on the iPhone/touch without even knowing it.

:D
Oh, I'd know it, because few if any Flash "developers" understand the :apple: HIG (for the Mac or for the iPhone). I'd bet money your UI will look like arse, and will feel like something more at home on Windows Mobile than on the iPhone. Ports have this funny way of "feeling" like ports...

Good luck with your intarwebz stardom, though. I'm sure the US Treasury is printing extra stacks of benjamins right now in anticipation of all the armored trucks that will soon be backing up to your mom's garage corporate headquarters. ;)

(Hint: If you were such the programmer rock star, wouldn't you already be able to develop for the iPhone, without porting help from Adobe?)

And... what exactly do you do for a living? Spend all day trying to convince your bosses that Flash is a fad?

In my defense, my Mom's garage is pretty sweet.

I can't wait to use Flash for 2d reasons. How is it any different than from a tool I already use like Unity 3d?

http://www.unity3d.com

Flash just another tool, like anything else. Use it or don't. It sounds like you don't want an additional choice for iPhone development.

(Hint: no need to get your panties in a bunch.)

And we still get paid big bucks to do it, despite the fact that you don't like it. That just burns your biscuits, doesn't it? :D

If Apple can't get on board, they will be left behind. This is one thing that can endanger Apple- Flash as a platform for publishing to mobile, web, Mac and PC all with one click. They can embrace it, or watch as their competition does and gains on them because of it.

Apple left behind?

Apple is defining the standards for smartphones. You can bet they've already got an answer for the Flash issue, and not only will it be better, but it will make Flash look like something that should have been junked a long time ago.

Flash, don't go away mad, but flash, just go away! ;-)

Seriously, CSS Animations and HTML5 should make Flash unnecessary!

What are you talking about?

Yes... CSS and HTML5 will allow video streaming, 3D applications, web cam recording, real-time/multi-user application development and so many other features to the browser, right?

Seems like you see flash as an animation machine. If so, you're totally misinformed.

Now, you'll say that video stream, 3D and multi-user applications, besides other things are useless and not necessary on the web.

Let me go back to Youtube btw.

Damn, I wish the same would happen with Director/Shockwave. I don't feel like learning XCode while I know so much about Director, and I would love to publish an iPhone app or game.

Oh and please don't give me the "Director is dead" bit. Adobe Director 11 was released last year on intel Macs and Vista and was updated to 11.5 this year. It is badly treated by Adobe (but still better than what Macromedia did to Director in its last years), with almost no marketing and a lack of support, but it's the development platform I know best, by a long run.

So can I just dream for a second about a "Publish to iPhone" option in Director even if it has zero chance of ever happening? It would enable the creation of much more powerful games/apps for the iPhone than Flash, including some real 3d games.
