Now what about CS2? Will all the CS2 programs work fine with Leopard? OH WAIT, nevermind, got my answer from that PDF. lol
Nope the PDF didn't have an answer. It could work, but Adobe hasn't tested it.

In my case I'm interested in Photoshop CS. There was nothing worthwile in the CS2 upgrade and CS3 doesn't really interest me right now.

Now the question for me is....any chance of CS2 working with leopard?
It might work. Adobe hasn't tested it. They won't test it nor will they fix it. That is the summary of their PDF for CS2 (and most other older versions of their software).

i feel bad for all the video editors out their who can't run leopard until the CS3 updates. I think its a hint to get FCS2. I want to know why they haven't thought about this since leopard was announced 🙄

I agree, lol, mind you, any video editor not using FCPro, assuming they are Mac based, is kind of strange anyway in my humble opinion.

Seriously I realize After Effects is nice ... but yes, Adobe should be shot for not having their ducks in a row on this ... makes you wonder if they have ulterior motives?

All my CS1 apps are behaving themselves so far. (Well, InDesign and Photoshop, at least).

Meanwhile Image Capture seems to have removed my need to use Photoshop with my scanner; and Preview does the work of my old Acrobat 6.0.2, only better, faster and easier.

Big companies that owe me big...

Wait, does this mean I won't be able to run Photoshop 6 on Leopard?! Adobe, you b@$+@rd$! I can't believe you won't keep supporting my copy of Photoshop 6, even though it is at least 4 versions old by now!

And I expect Microsoft to buy me an ice cream cone because I've used both Windows 95 and 98!

I used Photoshop CS2 yesterday on my Quad G5 with Leopard and it worked fine. I even scanned a few papers with a relatively old canon scanner plug-in and no glitches so far.

I did not try the other programs of the CS2 so far... Will do that sometime today when I find the time...

thanks, good to hear.

So with the apps that are compatible with 10.5 already, how does performance compare with 10.4? Any benchmarks online anywhere?

Are any of you actually aware of the problems with Acrobat 8 and Leopard before you bash Adobe senseless?

I thought the PDF printing problem was confined to Acrobat 7.

So, Adobe officially gives me the finger. Photoshop Elements 4 (the latest version, for those keeping score) is "Likely to encounter issues for which there is no resolution".

In other words, "we didn't test it, we won't fix it, and your only upgrade path is to mortgage your home on a copy of CS3."

I hope LemkeSoft is paying attention. Adobe has pretty much ordered Mac users to switch to Graphic Converter. Hopefully, it will be Leopard compatible (although I'm sure it will be soon if it is not already.)

LOL

Everyone blame Adobe, because its not Apple's fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get on the bandwagon and blame ADOBE!!!!!!!!!!!🙄

My thanks goes out to 3D Troll for his solution. 🙂

Typically if you are running in any type of production environment. You don't just run out and install the latest OS anyhow.

Since I print posters in a PDF workflow, it looks like I have a shiny hologram box to hold on to until January.

I love (read: am pissed off at) the fact that none of their versions of Photoshop Elements will ever work on Leopard.

They still haven't even released Elements 5, while Windows has gone through 5 and 6.
Have you taken a look at Pixelmator? I have not tried it, but if you are using Photoshop Elements then it might satisfy your wants and needs.

Is Adobe the new Microsoft?

No updates to Acrobat Pro until Jan '08.....goes to show you how bloated and useless it's become.

Putting things in perspective, even Filemaker is not Leopard compatible and it is produced by a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple. To be fair, the golden master for Leopard was not released to developers until last week. So Adobe and others are just now able to assess the full damage (incompatibility).

All that having been said, Adobe is developing apparent muffin tops above the waistline. Is Adobe is becoming the new Quark?

I'm using Acrobat 8 and have yet to encounter ANY problems. I'm sure there's something in there that will bite me in the heiny one of these days, but it hasn't popped up yet.

What a disappointment. My Leopard upgrade disc arrived today and it doesn't even have a hologram. By the time I am ready to install, there will likely be a slew of updates and patches.

I would really like to know how the rest of cs2 worked for you.
illustrator, indesign, imageready.

also, anyone dare to try DW mx2004...so old I know...but never bothered to upgrade.

No, as far as comments on the Adobe forums go, the direct PDF printing relates to 7 or 8.

You're a tool. There are numerous incompatibility problems with large chunks of Adobe's most recent, vastly expensive software (released just a few months ago...). 🙄

Adobe has been a bloatware king for years. Its one reason I avoided them when choosing a vector design package (our primary work aside from coding stuff) at my offices. Freehand has worked great for years.

Then, Adobe snapped it up and is expressly ignoring it. Very like the video houses and a newspaper, I am not inclined to just toss all our files, redo the whole internal process and convert to Illustrator at great expense.

If there was a legitimate competitor to photoshop (and don't say "gimp" or any other such lameness) I'd be all over it.

Acrobat 8 Update for Leopard the last big patch for 10.5?

Posted Feb 2008:

Though it hasn't been posted as a downloadable file on Adobe's site yet, an update to Acrobat 8 Professional that brings the app up to v8.1.2 is available. To access it, go to the Help menu in Acrobat 8 Professional and choose "Check for Updates" and it should make itself known to you.

According to Adobe blogger Adam Pratt this update represents "the last big patch...to achieve a streamlined Leopard system." Having not upgraded my production machine to Leopard and because I rarely do any strenuous graphical "lifting" on my Leopardified MacBook Pro, I'm wondering if Pratt's statement is in fact true: is the Adobe Creative Suite now officially Leopard-ready? How have your experiences been so far?

Huge Disappointment

I just received Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 and I am extremely disappointed in all of the Windows Only Features. I think the biggest disappointment for me was the exclusion of the Adobe Life Cycle Designer and any kind of template features. I was hoping to use the forms to build custom client data acquisition forms in order to speed up and streamline workflow processes and it appears to me that I'll have to either find an existing word doc to convert or create an original PDF in order to begin the design process.

If anybody does know any Mac friendly templates for Adobe Acrobat 8, could you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you!
