Advice for headphones

The fact that you take hifiguy seriously discredits you all together. All he does is unbox 'phones sent to him by the manufacturer. You think he is going to bad mouth a set and risk the chance of getting more stuff to unbox? You are sheep, my friend.

lol and makes his bad ? I actually gave the beats solo 2 a chance based on his Unboxing or whatever it was . So your point ? You do realize most reviews based on phones , laptops , tvs , games are units sent to the reviewer from the manufacturer or publisher . Some do pay out of pocket for the device but a lot are done with review units .

Lol I'm no sheep just not an hater based on old misconceptions of the beats brand . Bass heavy ? Yes it is do they suck ? No they don't and tyll proves that point

You want to talk about sheep ....lets just look at all the isheep? :p
I like iPhones but currently using android but do love my iPad a lot . Probably end up getting a iPhone 6s plus or whatever it's called because honestly I like the battery life out of iPhones

Down what ?

The beats solo 2 are good how about trying them in person ? I love my v moda m-100 more but they are still good

People need to stop hating

Tyll review is spot on sorry your blinded by stupid hate

How do you know he didn't try them? I did and I didn't find them to my liking. My personal home set is sennheiser hd580 and I use momentums for travel.

We've all tried beats enough to conclude that they are tinny little pieces of plastic ****. All for the looks and brand name. Not the sound.

Have you tried the solo 2 which is different product and sku ? If you haven't then you haven't tried the beats solo 2 .... One product sucks so they all do ? If that's true the v moda m-100 sucks because tbh the v moda LP is pretty bad ....worse then the solo HD or close to it

But best is to just try alot of headphones and buy the ones that your ears like the best since which headphone is best is subjective anyway.

Try considering IEM's over closed headphones. Personally, I don't see how closed full sized headphones still exist considering they do nothing better than IEM's.

While a bit on the pricier side at $350, I'm absolutely in love with my Phiaton Chord MS 350. Best all-in-one over-ear head phones I've ever used. The bluetooth audio quality is the best I've ever used. The noise cancelling, while not up to Bose standards, are still amazing for a set of bluetooth headphones. Battery life is incredible too. And once you plug the wire in, the quality just gets that much better. Definitely one of the best purchases I've made.

I'd like to put in a vote for LG Tone+ HBS 730.

The battery life is marvelous, controls are intuitive, it's bluetooth so wireless, and the sound quality is top notch as far as ear buds go.

The design can be a little polarizing, some people love it and others not so much. Personally I find them to be quite sexy. :)

I have a pair of these LGs as well. I actually removed the stock earbuds and replaced tham with Bose in ear phones. They work awesome and sound great. I got the Bose earbuds for free because the headphone jack was messed up.

Cause some people cannot wear IEMs and refuse to pay $1000 for custom fit ones. Plus the drivers on full size headphones are larger, able to hit lower frequencies.

What is everyone's opinion on a good pair of wireless headphones/earphones. I'm looking for something decent for the gym.

You should not try them, you should compare. It's easy to judge a headphone as good sounding if you've never heard an Audio Technica or Beyerdynamic.

But if you're biased or all about the style, then you can easily judge only by a picture.

Biased ? I hated beats until the solo 2 came out . Audio technica m50 is ok for the price but I like my v moda m-100 more.

People clearly are biased towards Beats hate and don't want to try em but still say they suck .

Jaybird bluebuds x are good but are pricy

They are highly regarded because they sound great for the price your paying for them .... Always about the price the value ratio and those are great in that regard . Koss portapro are considered great as well for the price your paying for them and for $40 they sound great but I've heard better overall

http://www.innerfidelity.com

check the wall of fame. any of those will be great.
Tyll is very highly regarded in the audiophile community.

Notice that there actually 1 beats model on there..(the solo 2)...that ruffled a lot of 'audiophile' feathers ;) ) but in actuality, Beats made great strides this year.

I never said v-moda were good. All I know is that beats are on the whole horrible.

I have a beats solo 2. i bought them second hand for $140 and I thought for that price its an amazing value. At $199 I would still think they're great.

I also have:

Shure SRH840
Senns HD 595
Grado/Alessandro MS1i (modded)
Ultimate Ears TF10
Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 pro
Etymotic er4s

I know what good sound sounds like. You should give these solo 2s a try.

I gave them a try ofc. They are OK. For their price they sound alright. But what I'm missing is a stage. The music sounds right 'on ear' and nothing like the 90 sqft stage I can see closed eyes on the Beyers 770 Edition.

Well that would be OK, but also the bass lacks. It sounds muddy and nothing like the music artist was heading for.

Then there are details, the 770 still shows more of them. Also the Solos sound a bit like the music comming from a tin and not as pure natural.

Then check the price, $150 new for the 770.

I don't know what you can find in your countries hifi stores but I've never seen a Beats or Bose here. But you can try some Stax and tell me how you like them ;)

Sure compare a $1k open headphones with a $199 on ear closed portable set.... Lol
Different purpose products. It's not fair to say, for example, that a Tesla is a terrible car because it can't go as fast as a Bugatti veyron

Or even with the 770. That thing needs a lot of amping and is huge. Not really fitting the same purpose as the solo 2.
It's not fair to say "tesla is a horrible car when for the same price you can get a Ford F-150 with a 1 tonne payload.."

I'm not comparing the Stax to anything. It's just the benchmark in what you can get sound wise. No bloat, unlimited stage, what you hear is what it should sound like.

The 32 ohm version of the 770 don't need amplification, it's loud enough on an iPhone. But sure they are big. If size or audio quality is not your priority, then you'll be fine with anything you'll like.

At the end you do listen with your ears, not eyes.
