That's probably not complimentary towards my pickiness  but I agree with that point, and what followed ("try one personally") so there's an up-vote from me :)

I wouldn't say I'm overly picky, but the second model I purchased had the distortion issue just by holding it one handed! The first unit didn't have that. I returned it before leaving the store and just gave up.

dont believe there is any without distortion, no need to apply pressure on back, just try typing like hit on very right part of display - this is unacceptable for me, buying air1:(

Mine does not distort in any way unless I press way too hard. Certainly not while typing.

There are things I miss about my Air 1 - the battery life and the active stylus performance specifically, but overall the Air 2 is a big improvement.

I got a great screen with my space gray 128gb wifi, no distorting or weird hue. However I have seen several screens in stores with the distorting issue. My GFs Air 2 has It, she doesn't seem to care though.

The Air 2's that i have used in the stores dont have the distortion problem when pressing down. Also, the vibration thing when playing loud music wasnt all that bad either. I hope the new batches are all fixed asap.

Can you elaborate about that?

The new laminated screen has caused interference with active Bluetooth stylii like the Jot Script, new Jot Touch, and Wacom Stylii. They seem to be getting better with SDK updates, but there are still a lot of issues to iron out. The old Air is currently more reliable for people who use them.

Why do we need a second thread discussing the distortion thingy? Isn't one thread enough? It's funny how when the iPad Air 1 was the current model there was endless threads about its issues and how the iPad 4 was better. Now the iPad Air is the golden ticket and iPad Air 2 is the problem child. I'm sorry I had an iPad Air and I didn't care for it. It couldn't stand how poorly Safari performed on it. At this point the iPad Air 2 is known entity either you're ready to pull the trigger or not.

There is no better argument for staying with the Air 1. Tbh the moron who made that video makes me slightly ashamed to own an iPad of any description.

I don't think I laughed so hard in a long time that was such a horrible review or whatever that thing was but it was hilarious #SMH just goes to show not everybody can be a YouTube review her

I don't see how it can all be fixed though? They'd have to admit there was a problem and it would have been more official, IMO.

Doesn't mean they couldn't smooth over something minor with a factory update or whatever but the screen distortion and vibrating are pretty freegin serious to just hope they magically get fixed. I dunno.

The screen can distort in a specific spot if you press the back in a specific spot. This might bother you if you A.) hold the iPad in a very specific way, or B.) if you go looking for it.

The speakers are loud and do reverberate.

Fingerprints show up a little more noticeably.

The battery needs slightly more frequent charging than the previous model.

You might get a screen with some color shifting and/or a shadow down the left edge. You might also get a beautifully even screen.

These things might bother you. Only you can decide if they do, and only after buying one to see.

But what will definitely NOT bother you is that this is absolutely the best iPad Apple has met yet. It is hands down one of, if not the, fastest and smoothest tablets ever made. The screen is crisp and punchy. The UI is quick and responsive, as is the wifi (except for a couple of iOS 8 glitches). The hardware is light, and thin, and a pure pleasure to use.

The iPad Air 2 is what tablet computing is meant to be. No iPad before it has been this close to idealized.

Yeah you summed it up pretty well. Not the perfect device, maybe TOO THIN, but the best one on the market.
