Or he gave her the lappy and is having the time of his life..

If you can't have the time of your life without giving a lappy, then you got the wrong girl.

Also, a few people are saying the guy giving the girl his lappy is lame and that makes him a loser bf.

I am willing to bet most of the people saying that are females, haha. :p

i was just thinking the same thing. why can SHE buy her own laptop?

I only have 3 things to day:

Get her a MacBook or MacBook Air; shows your care, while not spending excessive amounts of money.

Have it laser engraved with your name and hers.

Don't give her your used computer.

I'm going to toss this out there but it's been said in previous posts.

Don't do it. You are setting the bar way too high here. Have you thought about what you will buy her for the second year? Maybe by the third year it will be a new car or maybe that's the forth year.

Seriously she is just testing you to see what you are willing to give into here. I'm not dobuting that you two love each other but these are only some of the games women play.

Here the best advise anyone here can give you. Take that 1000-2000 you are going to spend on her and invest the money for yourself. Keep adding a couple of bucks every chance you get and by the time you hit 50 you'll have a very nice stack of cash.

No offense, but $50,000 is not much.

And he'll also still be single.

Fail.

$50,000 LAYING AROUND is a lot of money.

And if the girl is even slightly disappointed over NOT receiving a $1500 laptop for an Anniversary, then the OP is WAY better off without her. Cuz if he does go and get her a laptop, that makes her happy for a while, then she is thinking about the NEXT gift.

Sounds like he has a decent cash flow anyway if he wants to drop that much money on this chick, he could save the cash he would spend on the girl and save up for a Wedding to a girl who cares about HIM and NOT big gifts.

I say think about a better and cheaper gift and put some effort into it. Show her you care, not that your loaded. Even if you are loaded, $1500 for an anniversary makes you a sugar daddy, NOT an awesome bf. Your still no better off then the guy who put some time and effort into a cheaper gift and he sure as hell still gets laid afterward.

you guys are making the OP's gf out to be a real bitch. we dont know but she could be a really nice girl that is going to absolutely love the laptop. another thing to consider is that maybe she is buying him a really expensive gift. maybe if we went to the rolex forums we would find a thread titled "Advice on purchasing a Rolex for boyfriend." and another thing why do we care? he didnt ask us if we thought it was a good idea to buy his gf a laptop. he asked which one we thought he should give her. so lets stay on topic!!

Well, let's have the OP updates us on what he gets.

Then pass judgement, haha.

So what is she giving you? I think you should hold off on giving away $1500 on your first year anniversary, especially if it is just a girlfriend. You should save your money and buy her some flowers and a 200 dollar necklace or something.
