Yes, of course :) Also includes Speech.

Actually, I'm kinda hoping that when I release the source someone else might add in Tabs for me  lol

@Previous post
I didn't know you were around here David :)

Looks nice. I'd be interested in poking around the source once it's released and seeing if there's anything I can add.

A little look at how it organises bookmarks in the latest build:

I'm hoping, when I have a bit more coding behind me, to add in "Smart Bookmark Folders". :) You get the idea.

Tabs are coming. Hopefully soon...

Still awaiting the green light on source code release... (C'mon Apple! :D)

I don't mean to say anything, but wouldn't some of this (mentioning new WebKit methods, etc. ) be considered NDA-breaking?

 What did I mention? All of it is on the Apple site, no? :(

Looks nice, very clean and easy on the eyes. :)

Looking forward to giving it a try when Tiger comes out.

I'll also definitely give this a try... If it's the fastest, I'll use it, regardless of how it looks (though it does look very nice!).

I don't think there's any specifics as to the nature of the new Web Kit on Apple's site, merely that it exists. Nothing about the visual page editing AFAICT. Of course, if I'm wrong, I'd appreciate a link to the relevant page cause that sounds really interesting.

This looks like a gorgeous Browser:
Some things i would love for you to add:

1)Search as you type
2)Tab loading buttons along the top
3)Double clicking on the top tab bar in a space loads a tab (like FF)
4)Fast scrolling up and down pages like Safari
5)Fast start up time like Safari
6)Auto-emptying page cache
7)Fast and smooth resizing of windows
8)Easy drag n drop bookmarks and right click creationg of bookmark folders\
9)Nice gui on buttons and things like in Safari

That would be my perfect browser, if u can include most of those things then that would be awesome :)

Good.

Keep up the good work, and hope that there will be more apps like this one comming for Tiger for free

It looks beautiful.

But I'm not very adventurous when it comes to apps that I use regularly, so I think I'll stick to Safari and Firefox.

What do you get from making this if it is free and open source?

Experience and piece of mind and some warm fuzziness I expect. THose littles things that money can't buy. Correct me if I'm wrong though! :)

And if it works out well, maybe he will get a little fame and perhaps some job offers. :)

? What do the Firefox developers get out of it? How many people would actually pay for a browser? (OmniWeb is lacking in webKit updates, Opera... meh).

Clearing up a previous point - Safari can't edit web pages, but AeroBrowser can. Graphically. :) And window resizing is as fast as it can be (in Tiger). Depends on the page itself though - ones with loads of elements to resize slow down the OS resizing speed.

Aha!

HTML Editing
Safari 1.3 supports HTML editing, both at the Objective-C WebKit API level and using contenteditable and designMode in a Web page. The new Mail app in Tiger uses WebKit for message composition. You can write apps that make use of WebKit's editing technology and deploy them on Panther and Tiger.

One thing I'd like to see...built-in RSS. I'm a big Safari user now, but there's some features of it that I'd like tweaked. It looks like this browser will turn out to be great, but I'll only use it if it has RSS viewing capabilities. Take it a step further and add a lot more customization to what the RSS pages look like perhaps?

I got some people to test out Flare for me on the fastest possible machines they could (*cough* devkit *cough*) and Flare trounces Safari in BenchJS. Actually, I came 3rd best result ever :)

Take a look at my blog to see the figures:

This is not meant to show off the speed of the Intel macs, it's a test of how well Flare performs against other browsers ;)

Not terribly interesting. I like Safari and the fact that it comes preinstalled and auto-updates from Apple is great. The best part about another browser is it may push Apple to refine Safari. Otherwise, boring in a crowded field.
