I figured this thread would have came a lot sooner than now. To the OP: yes the silver is girly. I have one now and am so scared of pulling it out at the bar when there are a lot of male friends near me. I sweat and quiver at the thought of checking my messages.

This literally made me laugh out loud!!

Hello guys,

I just wondered is the silver iPhone 6 to "girly" for a guy? I think it looks pretty sweet, but I'm afraid of what others will think? Don't want to send out the wrong impression lol.

I kinda like the gold but I think that some people might find it gaudy.

I'll probally just end up with space grey blah.

Looking for advice...

Try not to be so superficial and sexist. You'll make better life decisions.

Also, nobody cares.

Im getting the white / silver phone because I think my silver iPad Air has a nice clean look to it.

I actually like the silver. I don't think it's girly. I have a silver MBA and it's not girly. I'm leaning towards the Gold 6+; I like the Space Gray on the Apple site, but didn't care for it on the 5S. I need to see all 3. I do, however, also like the silver on the 5S, so maybe, after seeing it, I may opt for 6+ Silver over Gold. We shall see on the 19th. Bottom line, the Silver looks good, and I have some odd feeling, that's what I'll end up with. Unless, the 6+ gold is as cool as the 5S gold. Was this indecisiveness all too confusing? :D

Let's review stereotypes:

1. If you're Goth, get the black one and squaller that no one understands you.

2. If you're Black and/or related to Versace, get the gold one and holla.

3. If you're a girl or effeminate man, buy the white one and then buy a Strawberry Mocha Frapuccino.

I'm trying to be silly. AKA, it doesn't matter what you buy. Only shallow people judge others by what color phone they use. But if you really do care about the color phone you buy, most people won't care about the color you buy. I love the silver ones. Gold ain't my thang yo, but the black and silver look nice and I'm bored with black so I'm getting silver.

:)

Good grief how old are you, 16?? Do you and who cares what others think.

If white is girly then why is that the color of the shirt we wear with a tux or suit?

Get it if you like it. I loved (and still love) the look of the white/silver 5s so that's what I got. I will be getting the space 6+ cause I like the way it looks this time.

Yes exactly. Get what you want. I've been getting black since the 5/5S. I thought the all black 5 was the best (minus the scuffing issues). I'm on the fence if I should get silver or space grey for the 6.

I have always used the silver white and have never felt "girly". Love the looks and how classy it looks. No worries.

I remember getting my 4s in white and my friends seeing it for the first time and asking me "Don't girls and gays have white phones?" Needless to say, I don't talk to those people anymore. (No, not because of that, but it paints a picture of who they were as people).

Who cares what anyone thinks, especially if its something as ridiculously childish as basing your sexuality or gender role based on your phones colour. Seriously.

I always preferred the black iPhones until they released that space gray abomination. I tried using it for 1 day but almost vomited every time I saw it. The home button looked weird and the gray on black back looked wrong. I returned it and got a Silver 5S and haven't looked back ever since. The silver TouchID bezel screams quality.

Plus it feels good having an Apple product that is iPod white.

White is so fluffy soft and delicate.
It's like a dew drop on Summer dawn.

Black, however, is tough as nails and really send the "right message".

Made me laugh!

I've had a white iP5 for two years and I think it looks great.
But then I am 6' 3" 95 kilos.

Seriously though, I'm town between silver and slate this time around. Slate looks best switched off due to the continuous glass and no display bezel showing and silver looks best switched on with white pages.

I've long passed the point where I care what people think. I'm a 6' male; I hunt and fish; I run a tractor and drive a 4-wheel drive Truck with small antlers hanging from the rearview mirror. I love guns and my dog is a labrador retriever that loves to hunt, too. I proudly own a silver/white 5s with a gray Magpul case.

Apple designs stuff that is neutral and appeals to everyone. Yeah they make colored stuff sometimes but it's always on a model that's of lesser popularity. If you release stuff that's gender-assigned and you're a company as big as Apple, you're shooting yourself in both feet.

I thought the same thing when I bought my 4S. The second I submitted it I thought to myself how stupid it was that I changed the phone I wanted because somebody else, who wasn't even going to USE it, might think that it was not okay for me to own. Not making that mistake this time around.
