I dont mean to be difficult or anything but... if you've gone through SIX different MBAs within 2 weeks, I would venture to say that the problem is yours and not the laptop's anymore...

Agreed. The OP still hasn't posted any documented proof regarding his exchanges. This equals a big fat lie in my book. If Apple has a problem with their products, they will fix them, no question asked but I do not believe the OP nor his claims. Post proof and gain credibility.

----------

On a more 'serious' note, could this be a sign of Steves Jobs resignations and the fall in the quality of Apple products from now on? JK

Yeah, yeah. His resignation was felt months and months ago in the supply chain. Producers were so distraught that they could not be bothered with QC'ing the products already in the pipeline. Did you really mean to post this non-thoughtout bit of lunacy?

PIC OR DIDNT HAPPEN TROLOLOL.
If you don't believe him, don't answer and don't even read his post. Some people (like me) do believe him, without requiring him to post proof (and how will he do that anyway?).

It's really that hard for you to figure out how to post an image? No wonder you believe him. Meh...

Image of what? He returned the 5 macbook airs, how can he prove they were faulty? Go to the store and ask to take a photo of them or what?
And why would he get through all that hassle just to prove to some random guy in the forum that he's not lying?

Image of the exchange documentation. I made this clear more than once. Did you bother to read that?

Either you believe him and you're interested to know what happened or will happen, either you don't believe him and move on with your life.

Why? Because this forum has become a home for the lonely with nothing better to do than sit at home and crank out BS stories founded in fantasy. If you choose to believe him, good for you. Just shows that you're easy to fool. As for me, I tend to want the truth and I am not easily fooled nor nearly as gullible. Clear enough for you now?

By the way, this is a public forum. I have the right to think his story is total crap, which I do, as much as you think his words are the very gospel. To each his own.

Founded in fantasy? i think you've been having too much kool aid, several other ppl have posted pictures of problems similar to the ones the OP had.

Here's .02 cents. Go buy yourself a clue. I didn't say he didn't have problems. I made this clear a few posts back. Go check them in case you missed that. What I have a problem believing is that Apple gave him 6 new MBA's. Maybe they did, but I don't believe it. That is my prerogative (go look it up) and I can express my opinion here.

Are we clear now?

I went back to make sure, in no way or form did you make yourself clear on what your issue was, you were just saying the OP was lying and it was BS.

Now we're clear, i would be pretty pissed off if i had issues and they refused to exchange it, although depending on the issue i would gladly have them fix it.

It's simple. If he had an issue but all means take it back. Why not? He paid for the thing, however many, many, many, many here have had dealings with Apple and the story he is telling just does not add up. I lost my entire iTunes lib when a drive failed. Apple gave me a ONE TIME only re-download of everything I purchased. Will they let me have another? Of course not because they do have rules, and limits on some things. I finally called Apple to ask them their policy and they said that in most cases they would make 2 to 3 attempts at customer satisfaction. After that they offer a cash refund and wash their hands of the problem. So, yes, I think the guy is lying.

I'm sorry but I have to ignore you from now on. Like some posters said if you don't believe me then just don't write into this thread ;)

I made it very simple for you to gain credibility because I know how Apple's exchange policy works. When they exchange something, they document it. You get a copy and so do they. Pretty simple. I asked you to post the six exchanges but you seem to have never posted them. Could be because they don't exist and according to Apple's Apple Care, they won't make six exchanges for the same product. Sooooo, it's your credibility on the line. Not mine. You came with an unbelievable story that you can't back up.

Please be polite mates, this is a public forum, not just of you two or three having an online row. Do not insult each other.

Just a tad off the topic, do I have the right to request for a replacement or refund if the product is faulty? Or Apple will try to fix it first. I would prefer the first two options because fixing takes time, and I do not want any of my machine to be opened up. Considering that my device is more than 1 week old.

Yes you do have the right to request for a replacement if you are still in 14 days return period. After all in 14 days return period you could return and buy it back as many times as you would like. However, after 14 days Apple decides what to do.

FWIW, as an Apple owner since 1977, and having owned many, many Mac laptops ever since the first one (PB100), I've had a relatively similar experience two or three times over the years.

The first gen MBA Rev A had trackpad and spacebar issues. I brought my first one back after 4 or 5 days, showed them the trackpad (wouldn't click) and they gave me a new one on the spot. When I got the second one home it had the same issue so I brought it back that same day. They insisted that I open the next one in the store just to make sure i wasn't given another problem. They said they would open them up until I was satisfied. Problem solved. They would NOT let me go with another one without confirming that I was happy.

There is NO WAY Apple would release a third- forget a fourth or more without the customer opening the box in front of them. They would NEVER just ship out replacement after replacement. Their general policies are after about 3 attempts to simply give the customer back their money. This is confirmed by asking 2 different managers this week this question- as I've been to several stores to pick up some new printers.

You are spot on Ryan. Apple will return anything within the time period and under warranty. I have experienced this myself. No one is saying that Apple will not exchange things, but there is no way, according to them, that they will exchange things 6 times.

Game, set, match: Poindexter333...

don't count your chickens, it may be that the reason he hasn't posted the proof yet is because his Photoshop skills are not as advanced as his story telling....

Or his scanner's *******:D

If I got six bad replacements of a MacBook Air (or anything), there wouldn't be a seventh. I'd have gotten something different.

Actually - 3 or 4 bad ones in a row and I'd have been gone, let alone 6.

Whole thing sounds like either a troll or a case of pathologic OCD.

----------

Bad example.

If my MBA did not sit level. I would return it. So would most people. If you want to live with a wobbly MBA for $1300+ go for it.

Now if you want to tell us you had a faulty USB port but refused to return it because you can manage...then we'll all be impressed.

Except it's not wobbly. In fact, I didn't notice it until I happened to see a piece of paper slide under the foot and was surprised it didn't get stopped by its contact with the foot. The machine is so stiff that it doesn't wobble at all, even with both wrists typing away.
