With watchOS 8.4.1 I was happily using the "Unity Lights" watch face on my AW7 Nike edition. However, after installing today's update to watchOS 8.4.2, the watch face is gone from the watch.

I can still see and configure it in the Watch app on my phone (updated to 15.3.1), but it's completely gone from the watch. It doesn't even appear in the watch face editor (on the watch).

Same happened to a friend with also an AW7 Nike edition and also to my wife's AW5 Nike edition. Other editions seem not to be affected.

(I've also read from 2 people that now only see a dot and the seconds hand. But that is on non-Nike edition watches.)

Can anybody with a Nike edition watch confirm this, too?

EDIT: Deleting and re-adding the watch face as mentioned here didn't work for me.

EDIT2: So far it seems to be these models that are affected:

* AW7 Nike
* AW5 Nike
* AW6 Standard

My update just finished. I did not have the Unity Lights face set prior to the update.

I am able to add/use the Unity Lights face as expected on an Apple Watch Nike SE.

I made a report in Feedback Assistant about this. My reference id is FB9896217. If you also have this issue, please do make a report, too. (On your phone, type this into the Safari URL bar and open it: applefeedback:// )

Just had a chat with the Apple Support, after basic troubleshooting steps they only recommended to remove the watch and set it up again...bit drastic in my opinion for one watch face which isn´t working.
Actually tried most of the available watch faces and the are okay.
Could it be the fact that the unity watch face is using the "2D ray tracing" ?
If I understand right it´s the first time used in a watch face..

In the case where people only see a yellow dot and the seconds hand, this might be the case.

However, in my case, I don't see anything about this watch face. As if it doesn't exist. Similar to the Hermès watch faces, which are included in the firmware, but disabled for non-Hermès models.

And yes, I also don't think unpairing/repairing will help as I've setup this watch only few weeks ago from a backup from my AW5 and repairing is basically the same.

Here's what the "New Watch Faces" banner should look like (left) and what it looks like on my AW7 now (right):

It´s a super strange case. I can exactly reproduce the issue as you have it! Probably an update again next week?
Well in the meantime we just use a different one anyway and wait for a fix.

I had this happen to me, reported it in the OS update thread. The face disappeared from the watch but was still on the app on the phone, I deleted it there and re-added from the face gallery and it is working again ...

Having the exact same problem on my AW5 Sport edition, and attempted the same troubleshooting steps you did on my customized Unity Lights + Complications face, no dice... I see the white second hand and complications, but a black dial area and no hour/minute hands.

Have tried adding other variants of the Unity Lights face, none of them show with the colours.

well bizarre, you could do the suggested above unpair/re-pair but imho that's far too much trouble for a watch face.
You could try a reboot, or, wait for the next update, I'm sure it will be fixed

On my AW7, the Unity face went to grayscale. I tried adjusting the color setting on the watch and the phone app, no change. Removed and re-added face (it's still on the phone app), no change. Restarted AW, no change. I'm not going to un-pair/re-pair my AW just to fix this.

AFAIK the other watch faces work fine, only Unity is affected. Very odd.

Try removing the face on the app on the phone and then re-add from the face gallery

My boyfriend's Series 4 is now showing blank...on my Series 6 it's showing just fine after the update...this makes no sense whatsoever, but it doesn't surprise me since Apple's software quality has been going to hell in a hand basket for the past year or so...

It depends on how you delete the watch face. You have to use the delete function that gives you the red circles with the minis sign. That way I was successful after several attempts using a different procedure.

Sadly this still doesn't work on my AW7 Nike edition. I tried at least 10 times - adding the Unity Lights watch face, then deleting it via the "Edit" menu (where the red circles appear).

Same, Apple Watch series 4. Showing in Apple Watch app in the iphone, but not available on the watch itself.

I can’t understand how this it’s possible:
- launch a Watch face (something so dumb about sw complexity);
- update the watchOS with a bug fix and break the Watch face;
- update the watchOS with a bug fix and break, again, the Watch face.

Apple, are you kidding us?
Really you don’t have a programmer who can test or fix this instead of show you patetic?

Same here. Tried deleting and redownloading but just displays monochrome. Happened to me after installing latest WatchOS update - Apple Watch Series 4 44mm Stainless Steel.

Apple Watch S6, non-Nike aluminum. Unity face turned monochrome. Tried adding new Unity face, still monochrome even though it is set to color.
