I also "love" the way Music changes versions on songs in the library. I typically don't want the latest remastered version.

yes!

Another thing I hate.

It's a huge mistake to assume folks want "the latest remastered version" of XYZ song.

That's not how a lot of us like to experience our music.
It's a big problem with streaming services and yet another reason I will always keep a local library of my own.

Do you use iTunes Match? I ditched Apple Music long ago and use that instead. I do have another Mac running Sequoia and all my music shows up in the Music app no problem
Apple Match killed a bunch of songs I had purchased a .... long long time ago. Unplayable and apple has no idea why.

I like Apple Music more than I like Spotify (I just like the interface better and it works better with Last.fm) but the service could use a big refresh and bring in some great things that Spotify does. I could go without the AI though, as I'm just now getting annoyed with all the AI stuff. I guess when I listen to music, I'm still am living in the past, more or less.

Fair enough - your mileage may vary as they say.

I'd describe my taste as being 'eclectic' where I like all sort of rock and all sort of electronica, so perhaps I'm an edge case, where it's difficult to tell what exactly I'm into.

I've observed with AM that if you are into a one genre and a pretty mainstream genre (not saying that you are), it tends to be pretty good at recommendations.

my taste is about as eclectic as it gets

I listen to almost anything and everything

It's lowkey frustrating to have my Apple Lossless CD rips matched to iCloud with no means of turning it off

Or insists on playing and recommending clean versions. In case you were still having fun.
