Like 12 it was in 2006 flew from Raleigh NC on American to london then to Dubai on Emirates.

It was fun expirience working at American. Had lots of opportunities to fly loads of places. Also got to go to Australia 1st class from Tokyo. Would take day trips to Chicago, Miami, DC lots of times.

The reason I asked is that even a decade ago, air travel was a lot more comfortable than it is at the moment.

For domestic(US) flights i’ve flown Delta and United. Can’t really complain, but the extent to which they nickle-n-dime you is reaching absurd levels. But overall cant complain.

For all we complain about, it is amazing how convenient and affordable flying has become.

It is convenient and affordable; however, increasingly, cattle/coach/economy class has become a most uncomfortable endurance test if the flight is long haul.

Whats the longest haul you’ve flown?

For me it was Sydney to Dallas via Qantas a few years ago. While not terrible, i think 15.5hrs is really pushing the limits of endurance(on any airline/class).

Hmmm...I think the longest haul for me was either Chicago-Tokyo or Hong Kong- San Francisco-New Orleans (we did stop in SF for an hour or two before continuing on to NOLA). Although, I did fly Johannesburg-Nairobi-Athens once and that was longer than I liked, but Paris-Johannesburg was likely longer. Of course all of these were back when planes were more comfortable and spacious. I loved those old, comfortable 747's.

London to LA. Think it was 11.5 hours. Did my head in. The girl sat next to me took her shoes off before we took off and her feet stank. It was a work trip, so economy class.

Southwest, period.
I will always make them my first choice.
Had booked flights, then had to postpone my trip for medical reasons. I received a full credit towards new tickets. They were a bit more due to the shorter time between booking and flying, but much easier to take than paying full price twice.

Hmmm, for me it was either SFO to CDG or ICN to SFO.

I think the current longest flight is operated by Singapore Airlines flying nonstop between SIN and EWR. Sounds brutal.

I do the same. I have RARELY been delayed on Southwest, I think the one time I was delayed was due to weather. However - I travel so infrequently (haven't flown in a year now) I don't recall being delayed often, even when I flew home on American on the day of a snowstorm at home.
