Been trying to find a decent Gmail client for a while. Maybe I'll give this a try.

Any reasons why you don't just compress the image into a zip? Compressed folders have universal support on Windows and OS X now for years.

Not everybody knows what to do with a zip. And if you're talking with your clients, you don't want to make it any more difficult for them. Also, on mobile ZIP does work, but again, you don't want to make it difficult.

The problem isn't solved with a zip

All you have to do is double click a zip though...

...and anyway we're talking about how something looks here, its only OS X mail to mail that displays the picture inline, if you send to Gmail, or a Windows machine that doesn't support inline images, it just appears as a jpeg icon they have to double click and open else where. Surely, as you say you don't want to make things harder for a client its actually better if they are on OS X mail and they can see the image at the end of the e-mail without having to double click and open it in anything else anyway?

I've used their betas off and on for literally years. "On" usually gets quickly set back to "off", though, because for whatever reason Airmail does not "play nice" with Exchange. I tried v3 for a day only to realize that it still just doesn't get along well with Exchange. I use CloudMagic and Outlook for Exchange and CloudMagic and MailPlane for Gmail. I'd probably switch to 100% CloudMagic if they were to finish up their feature set - or would switch to 100% MailPlane if they were to add in support for Exchange (never gonna happen).

I'm still looking for that perfect OSX Mail client that can manage Gmail and Exchange well. Apple Mail is definitely *not* that, and nor is AirMail.

Hope springs eternal...

How do you navigate to different folders in this app? I keep mail in separate folders for each client so navigation is important to me.

Am I literally the only person who uses the stock Mails app on OS X? Suits all my basic needs.
No you are not. I don't understand why people look for something else. Stock Mac Mail application is one of the best I've ever used. I sure beats Outlook in my experience. I also hate the mail program of Windows 10. I like the combined Inbox feature of all my mail accounts appearing in one general Inbox.

I have two private OS X server hosted mail accounts, an exchange account, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and iCloud accounts all handled by the stock Mail App.

Like you said, stock Mac Mail program does everything perfectly the way I want it and I have no reason to look elsewhere.

Because sending mail attachments is a chore. Let me attach as a non-embedded file. And no using command line hacks doesn't fix the issue for windows users who gets messages with everything embedded.

Frankly I have no idea about this problem. I haven't had a single complaint from any of my windows users regarding any attachment.

I've been using Airmail since this v3 was released, both on iOS and OS X (macOS) and the other day I switched back to the default Mail.app from Apple for both platforms.

While I really like the many options and the UI of Airmail, the push notifications and syncing of the app hasn't been very good. Nearly all the time the app would not display badge app icons for unread messages until after I've opened it and refreshed it. Other times I've delete or archive a message on one device and later on check the same account on a different device and after a refresh the message that should be gone still appears. I'd have to quit the app altogether and then open it again to get the proper updates for the inbox.

I'll keep the apps on my devices, but I've disabled notifications and moved them into folders and made Mail.app primary apps again. Perhaps I'll revisit Airmail again down the road after more significant updates.

Seems like there is lots happening in the mail world recently.

I deleted this when I had version 2 and moved to Cloudmagic. Would rather use Polymail on Mac OS and IOS given a choice but they don't (yet) support IMAP although they are promising an imminent release to address that.

Would be interesting to read a review comparing Polymail to Airmail.
