Just got my first ever airpods (2nd gen). Out of the box, the hinge feels a bit loose and whether the lid is closed or open it is possible to move it left and right and it makes a creaking sound. When the lid is closed it also makes creaking noises while wiping down the case with microfiber cloth. Is that normal or did I just got a dud?

Mine making that sound as well. I actually posted this a month or so ago with the same question and seemed to get some people saying they dont hear anything while others experience the same situation.

I guess it’s just the way the hinge is constructed.. If you think about it, if there was no movement it would be hard to open the lid.

Does yours also make creaking sound (like plastic rubbing with plastic) when you try to rotate the lid a bit? Noticed that while cleaning the case.

Daft question, but where did you buy the AirPods from? I’ve encountered really convincing clones that are always let down but the case.
