with the case.... again, that's not saying anything. ANY device can maintain a charge if you BRING it's power source. So bragging that your device can maintain 24 hours worth of charge as long as you have your power source with it and recharge it is just DUMB. I'm just perplexed that people have blinders on and accept this as a great "FEATURE." "Yes our rechargeable device is awesome and maintains it's power - just keep it in the power case." MAGICAL. If you want to argue that the power case is nicely designed, that's different, I'd agree.
That's not "bragging" that's flat out just the numbers. Run out of juice, place them in the case for 15 minutes and you get another 3 hours of playback.

Longest battery power of any fully wireless earbuds, find better or admit that battery technology is the limiting factor here.

I can complain my car doesn't get 250 mpg, but it's a stupid complaint.

If Apple had "less attention to detail", they would have simply pushed these out the door, technical glitch or no.

What they are doing is EXACTLY "Attention to detail". Sorry if you think otherwise.

Probably supplier issues with the W1 chip. Not enough production yet.

Seeing as no one knows the exact cause of the delay, it seems premature to say the delay is "EXACTLY attention to detail". Attention to detail extends to 1) testing a device for problems BEFORE it goes to mass production and has an announced release date and 2) understanding the operations/manufacturing chain and its limitations before announcing a release date. Apple obviously failed doing at least one of these just 6-8 weeks before release. They also failed at this pretty hard for the Apple Watch release... even though they had 6 months lead time in that case. This is not attention to detail. It's poor planning from the biggest an wealthiest company in the world. And why is it that with the operations wizard Cook at the helm, Apple has has more botched hardware releases than ever?

Maybe because as CEO he's no longer in charge of production. Someone else has been for the past five plus years.

Anyone who doesn't know what the Peter Principle is, look it up. Basically it's an observation that people are usually promoted one level beyond their competence level, because they always get promoted for doing well at the LAST thing they did.

In this case, it's a double whammy for Apple, because not only was he perhaps promoted past his level of competence (or into the wrong area), but he was taken away from the very job that needed his expertise.

"Hey this guy is very practical and great at supply chain control. Cool! Let's make him CEO in charge of creativity, and find someone else to take over his current job." D'oh!

Implying a belief that Steve Jobs was an idiot cause he personally groomed Cook for the role.

No, that's your own take on it. Jobs was a lot of negative things, but he wasn't an idiot like you seem to want to imply.

On the contrary, I've speculated in past posts that Jobs might've deliberately chosen Cook partly so that Jobs' reign would look better.

Even Jobs telling Cook not to try to do what Jobs would've done, was like purposely setting Cook up for failure.

His choice also likely helped prevent Jony, Craig, Eddy or Phil from forcing only their own style too much, which undoubtedly would happen if any of them had been chosen.

I was wondering lately what was going on with that. I just got a new pair of nose qc35 headphones and when setting up. They allow Easy NFC pairing with devices that allow it. Aka. Not my iPhone 7 plus. Why? I don't really know. Is there a reason Apple hasn't opened up NFC? Because it looks pretty crappy when there is a wide use for a technology that is literally built inside the iPhone that android users can use no problem but we are locked out for some reason. I remember at the airpod announcement Apple bragging about how easy it was to pair the airpods. Yeah? Well NFC tapping is just as easy and not enabled on iPhone. Which could work for a lot more headphones than just apple's

I wonder if the Airpods can be paired to non-Apple devices. I doubt it. Will have to wait for a detailed review. I think it uses a proprietary tech for pairing up... I might be wrong though, but I would certainly not be surprised if Apple does that.

Yes they can. Just means you have to go to normal settings and pair that way
